Today on "Kresta in the Afternoon" - June 8, 2012

Talking about the "things that matter most" on June 8

4:40 – Why Children Matter
Why Children Matter. Believe it or not, it’s now something that needs explaining. In an age when common sense too often gives way to the opinions of "experts," Johann Christoph Arnold offers an approach to child rearing that is grounded in faith and old-fashioned in the best sense. As the fabric of family (and society) is torn apart, this he offers up concrete steps to bolster and encourage those parents who want to pass on to their children the values their parents gave them.

5:40 – Three Irish Saints: A Guide to Finding Your Spiritual Style
Are you a thinker, a doer, or a lover? In Three Irish Saints: A Guide to Finding Your Spiritual Style, Dr. Kevin Vost mines ancient and modern sources to reveal what Saints Kevin of Glendalough, Patrick of Ireland, and Brigid of Kildare can teach us about the joys of contemplation, evangelization, and charitable living. It’s a perfect way to lead into the 50th Eucharistic Congress kicking off this weekend in Ireland. Included in the book is a simple self-test to find out which Irish spiritual master you are most like.

  1. On "Kresta in the Afternoon," I mentioned the lack of coverage by the media for these events. I hereby reiterate that view. We need to insist the news crews cover ALL the news, or it will be another form on censoring, which is loudly protested against by liberals. Right?
