Today on Kresta - August 3, 2011

Talking about the "things that matter most" on Aug. 3

Live from the Catholic Marketing Network in Philadelphia

4:00 – Kresta Comments
Archbishop Charles Chaput, newly-named Archbishop of Philadelphia, celebrated Mass earlier this week at the Knights of Columbus’ Annual Convention. His homily there raised some eyebrows, as he often does. He said “Bishops, priests, and deacons are too often weak and sinful. They need to be held to high standards. Some deserve to be chastised… But when people deride their bishops and priests out of pride and resentment or some perverse desire for they perceive as “power,” they undermine the Church herself, and they set themselves against the God whose vessel she is. And that, as Scripture suggests, leads in a painful direction.” Al comments.

4:20 - The Catholic Woman’s Book of Prayers
With all the mixed messages that women receive from society today, it s easy to be distracted from and even unreceptive to the deep and abiding love that Christ has for them. Whether single or married, religious or consecrated, parenting children, or spiritually mentoring others, women need to know that the Lord understands the many challenges they face, their desire for inspiration, and, above all, their need to be affirmed as women. Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle offers a book of original and traditional prayers, inspiring writings, and uplifting words from the saints, women can be touched by God's divine love, thrive in affirmation from the Church, and understand and appreciate the true feminine genius that Christ offers.

  1. Today Regina Doman said a quote from another author who inspired her, I think it began like "When beauty is severed from good..."

I was wondering what that quote was. Thank you!
