Today on "Kresta in the Afternoon" - June 28, 2013

Talking about the "things that matter most" on June 28

4:00 – The Church’s Response to DOMA and Prop 8 Decisions
The US Supreme Court has struck down parts of the Defense of Marriage Act and the voter-approved Proposition 8 in CA. We talk to Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, former chairman of the Bishops’ Ad Hoc Committee for the Defense of Marriage, about the Church’s response and how this may impact the Church’s public witness of the sanctity of marriage.

4:20 – Feasts of St Irenaeus and the Roman Martyrs of the First Century
Over the next few days we will celebrate two important feast days – St. Irenaeus today and the Roman Martyrs of the First Century on Sunday. Steve Ray is here to take is into the life of Irenaeus and the persecution of the first Century.

4:40 – Judge: Teacher Who Punished Student for Expressing Catholic Belief Against Homosexuality Violated Student’s First Amendment Rights
The Thomas More Law Center has announced a victory in their lawsuit against teacher Johnson McDowell of Howell High School in Howell, Michigan.  Federal District Judge Patrick J. Duggan declared the teacher’s actions in punishing Daniel Glowacki for expressing his beliefs against homosexuality violated Daniel’s First Amendment rights.  In its findings of fact—the Court described how the teacher initiated a discussion about homosexuality.  The teacher wore a purple t-shirt and was promoting the homosexual agenda.  In response, the Plaintiff, 16 year-old Daniel Glowacki stated that homosexuality was against his Catholic beliefs.  The teacher, admittedly, became angry and threw Daniel out of class because he disagreed with Daniel’s beliefs. Chief Counsel on this case, Erin Mersino, joins us.

5:00 – Disinformation: The Secret Strategy for Undermining Freedom, Attacking Religion, and Promoting Terrorism
In his new book Disinformation, Ron Rychlak shows how destroying the reputation of good leaders has been developed into a high art and science. He looks at how Pope Pius XII --a generation ago the world's most high-profile Christian leader, who personally saved countless Jews from Hitler's Holocaust--was transformed, through the magic of disinformation, into a Nazi sympathizer. He looks at how Christianity and Judaism have been targeted for constant denigration and defamation through an ongoing campaign of disinformation. And he examines how the Soviet bloc planted 4,000 agents of influence in the Islamic world, armed with hundreds of thousands of copies of the most infamous anti-Semitic book in history, to fan the flames of ancient Arab resentments against the U.S. and Israel and sow the seeds of anti-Semitism that would later bloom in the form of violence and terror toward Jews and Christians. Ron joins us.

  1. I want to reach Al. Moderators, please forward it to him. He really needs to know. First order of business: watch Brother Nathanael - any of his 5 minute videos! on youtube. Immediately! He has the answers to everything you are wondering about - for example, June 27th questions about why the United States can't control it's borders.

I have not gotten the podcast for this, the June 28th program, yet, yet, what I see as questionable in the description of the book is the references to 'antisemitism.' In fact, the overarching, most organized and most destructive agenda in this country is the agenda of those who raise the cry, "Antisemitism!" whenever anyone dares to even HINT at the truth about them.

Not every Jew is overwhelmingly Zionist, but no group in this country is more ethnocentric and more organized for their perceived interest, diametrically opposed to that of the United States (we started the Iraq war FOR ISRAEL) than are Jews - here in the US, and in the West. Look at Israel, the most racially segregated, racially ehtnocentric country in the world, where citizens may carry machine guns if they desire. Yet, who, in this country, most promotes gun control, and most of all, massive immigration? It is all the dual citizens in Washington, none of whom place the United States first. This is absolutely true.

Islam is far closer to Catholicism in its view of Christ and Mary than is the Talmud. Your skin would crawl if you knew what is ACTUALLY PRINTED IN THE TALMUD about Jesus, and Mary. Scatological terms are used; I will leave it at that. Gentiles are considered animals, and that is MILD compared to specifics I could cite from the Talmud.

I just find it frustrating, and sad, to listen as so many callers, and the host, appear not to know - or perhaps the host does, at least has a suspicion, but cannot state this on air.

Until we realize who is dominating this country, and have the courage to tell the truth, we are finished as a country.

It was difficult to listen to Al asking over and over and over on the 27th, 'why is no one controlling the border?' and knowing the answer. Al: watch Brother Nathanael's videos - even just one 5 minute one, on youtube.

Bro Nate has the answer to all your questions!

    1. This sort of hate has no place on a Catholic blog. Please, let's not tolerate it, because if we do we will be tarnished by it. It's not acceptable for Catholics or other Christians, indeed for anyone, to publish hateful comments against Jews or Israel.

    2. Since you have failed to remove this hateful statement against Jews, I have no choice but to no longer read or post on your blog. SHAME on you, Mr. Kresta, for allowing anti-Jewish hate to be posted here. I'm shocked and saddened. I really thought you were a good man.
