“Abortion today, is a continuation of a strategy that began before slavery ended.” Mark Crutcher, President of Life Dynamics.
Today, Life Dynamics, Inc., a national pro-life organization located in Denton, Texas, joins the African American community in recognizing Juneteenth, a holiday which commemorates that moment in time when the enslaved in Galveston, Texas received word of their freedom. It is a day on which we acknowledge the evils of slavery.
Life Dynamics is reminded, on this important day, that the aftermath of slavery has not ended.
Mark Crutcher, President of Life Dynamics points out that , “Abortion today, is a continuation of a strategy that began before slavery ended, with the intention that slavery was going to end, and what was going to happen to Black people once slavery was over. The strategies they came up with right then continued on until they got to the one that worked, which was abortion.”
Life Dynamics has documented this “strategy” in a powerful film they produced called, Maafa21 Black Genocide in 21st Century America.
From the film’s cover:
“They were stolen from their homes, locked in chains and taken across an ocean. And for more than 200 years, their blood and sweat would help to build the richest and most powerful nation the world has ever known. But when slavery ended, their welcome was over. The wealthy elite had decided it was time for them to disappear and they were not going to be particular about how it might be done.”
The film’s title originates from a Swahili word, Maafa, which means “A terrible tragedy” and used to define the time of the middle passage during the slave trade and “21st century” because it reveals the “Maafa” has not ended but is still being carried out.
Viewers of Maafa21 are taken on a journey through a dark dimension of the American story, exploring compelling connections between slavery, colonization, Darwin, Eugenics, sterilization, birth control, and finally, abortion. Maafa21 reveals that it is no coincidence that abortion has become the number one killer of the African American community today.
Crutcher points out that, “For most people, it’s probably hard to conceive that the ethnic cleansing going on today through legal abortion began with the fear of freed slaves. But that is exactly what happened. “
Maafa21 is a primer on power, corruption and betrayal. Ironically, within days after Maafa21 was released, U.S Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, was being interviewed by a reporter for the New York Times and made the following statement when asked about Roe vs. Wade – the decision that legalized abortion: “Frankly, I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”
The producer of Maafa21, calls Ginsburg’s statement a “smoking gun.” Crutcher points out that, “Here is the most radical abortion proponent that’s ever been on the Supreme Court openly conceding that the arguments we make in Maafa21 are absolutely accurate. She is admitting that the legalization of abortion was not about women’s rights or reproductive freedom; it was about eliminating certain groups of people. In other words, it was about eugenics.”
Crutcher continues, “there are other people who will look you right in the face and tell you that racism was not the driving force behind the American eugenics movement. And you’d have to be a complete idiot to believe that. The truth is that if blacks had never been stolen out of Africa and brought here in chains, there would never have been a eugenics movement in the first place. There would never have been forced sterilizations; there would never have been a birth control revolution; there would never have been a call for the legalization of abortion; and you would have never heard the terms, population control and family planning. The fact is that had slavery never existed, Planned Parenthood would not exist today.”
