'I’m from the government and I’m here to help'

How many things are wrong with this typical Scottish family? Probably plenty. Maybe the government should check.

Think of the Scottish Highlands – purple heather and green, sheep-dotted hills, craggy castles, and stern, fiercely independent Celts. Strange, then, that the home of Braveheart, where people still eat haggis and consider visitors from neighbouring glens “outsiders,” has become what some say is a working laboratory for globalist government control of the family.

This month, the Scottish Parliament introduced new guidelines for a government program that aims to appoint a “Named Person” – a social worker, teacher or some other government agent – to oversee the family, health and school life of every child in Scotland from birth to age 18.

Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) is a labyrinth of regulations and “practice models” that are “being threaded through all existing policy, practice, strategy and legislation” to ensure that Scottish children are raised in government-approved fashion.
