Talking about the "things that matter most" on Nov. 22

4:00 - Founder of the Servants of Charity officially proclaimed a Saint
St. Louis Guanella, the founder of the Servants of Charity, the Daughters of St. Mary of Providence and the Pious Union of St. Joseph, was officially proclaimed a Saint by Pope Benedict XVI on October 23. This “Saint of Charity” who lived an exemplary life of Providence believed that each person has a God-given right of "dignity and love." Fr. Guanella created orphanages and homes for the people he considered the “poorest of the poor,” and cared the most for persons with disabilities and the frail elderly. His charism and congregations spread throughout Italy, Europe, S. America, N. America, and now exist in twenty-two countries; including the Philippines and India. We talk with Fr. Fortunato Turati a priest of the order and Joe Yekulis, Director of PR for the Order, both of whom were in Rome for the canonization.

4:20 – Animal rights group's lawsuit alleges Sea World is keeping orcas in slavery and violating their 13th Amendment rights
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has filed a lawsuit against Sea World for allegedly violating the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution -- which bans slavery -- by keeping orcas at parks in San Diego and Orlando, Fla. Part of the lawsuit also asserts that it is illegal to artificially inseminate the females and then take away their babies. We talk to bioethicist Wesley Smith about this case and while ridiculous, why it is also very dangerous.
