About.com Guide - Catholicism
For several months in mid-2011, the biggest and most divisive story on the Catholic side of the World Wide Web involved the strange case of Fr. John Corapi, a charismatic preacher who announced on Ash Wednesday 2011 that he had been accused of sexual impropriety and drug abuse. Ordered by his superiors in the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) to remain silent while the charges were investigated, Father Corapi complied for a few months before bringing the investigation to a halt by announcing that he intended to leave the priesthood.
But, Father Corapi promised, he would not be "silenced." Unable to continue to speak and teach as a Catholic priest, Father Corapi announced a new persona: Under the guise of the "Black Sheep Dog," he would continue to speak on many of the topics he had previously discussed, but with more of a political emphasis. He hinted broadly at plans surrounding the 2012 presidential election.
Yet here we are in 2012, and the primary season is well under way. Of the remaining four Republican candidates, two (Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum) are Catholics, and Barack Obama's administration has just launched a frontal attack on Catholic religious freedom in the United States, under the guise of advancing "healthcare reform." This would seem the perfect time for the Black Sheep Dog to charge into the fray.
But Father Corapi is nowhere in sight.
Readers have been asking for a few months if I knew of any developments in the strange case of Fr. John Corapi, and the truth is, I'm as clueless as they are. After an initial flurry of activity, updates to Father Corapi's new website, theblacksheepdog.us, became few and far between, and sometime around the first of the year (as Patrick Madrid, I believe, was the first to notice) all of the content was removed from the site. In its place, a single white page remains, with just three lines of text:
Inquiries regarding TheBlackSheepDog.US can be made to:

Father Corapi's/The Black Sheep Dog's official accounts on Twitter and on Facebook have disappeared as well. And here we are, over three weeks after Patrick noted that Father Corapi had "vanishe[d] off the radar screen," and there's still no word to be found anywhere about what has happened.
My initial thought on reading Patrick's post was that perhaps Father Corapi had finally decided to submit in obedience to the direct orders of his superiors in SOLT, and had returned to live with them in community while they completed the investigation that had been abruptly cut short. I still hope that my initial thought was true. But I'm beginning to have doubts, since it seems to me that, because of the unfortunately public nature of the Father Corapi controversy, SOLT would be bound, if for no other reason than by the dictates of charity, to release at least a brief statement acknowledging Father Corapi's return. The fact that they haven't leads me to believe that something else is going on, and it's hard to imagine that something else being something good.
Of course, time will tell (though I am surprised that it hasn't told already). Father Corapi was too prominent of a figure, and last year's scandal was too widely discussed, for him to disappear like Amelia Earhart. But whatever has happened, I'll make one prediction right now: We have seen the end of the Black Sheep Dog.
Let us hope and pray that we haven't seen the end of Fr. John Corapi as well.

Of course someone could actually write to the address.... I know, that is so 20th century.
ReplyDeleteYes! Do write, Mark - and let us know what you find out.

Pride goeth before a fall. I know that all too well, as every human being that has ever lived has known, and only two were not made by the Tempter, even Satan,to succumb, namely our Blessed Mother and her son, our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless You Father Corapi, wherever you are. God Loves You and His Mercy Endureth forever. You changed my life through your ministry and I hope one day to be able to shake your hand, look into your eyes and tell you that your preaching and unashamed sense of moral manhood brought me back to the Precious Cross of Calvary at a point in my life when confusion had taken the reigns, after my will had indeed succumbed, in its chaotic grip. You are a Man of God, never forget that Brother. Dave in Oregon (USMC VFW)
ReplyDeleteA reply to my own comment above: Just wanted to say that in no way does what I have written here imply/impart/impute any blame or specific transgression on the part of any individual, simply that the Adversary knows whereby and when we are at our weakest, employing this diabolical stratagem most especially to tempt us as we choose to follow our Lord and Walk in His Wonderful Way, for that makes the Devil furious, in fear that we in turn might persuade another lost Soul to seek out the succor, the strength, the solace of the Blessed Master, even Christ Jesus.
DeleteI agree with your thought, David, but I would hate to have to diagram that sentence.

So sad, I loved Father Corapi and bought his DVD series, now what do I do with it?
ReplyDeleteFather Corapi, do not be afraid to repent and go back to the religious life, we all love you and just want to see the best for you.
Sometimes we get humiliated from time to time, just pick yourself up, repent and move on to working for the Lord Jesus Christ.
I would suggest that you keep it. Why why why do you assume he is guilty? I know he is innocent I have had dealings with his accuser and know what she is capable of. Dont assume you all know everything. He is a good priest
DeleteBecause of his shortfalls this does not mean that his teaching is irrelevant. Continue to enjoy and learn from his material.
DeleteI would hope that his order would say nothing of his return and allow him to deal with everything in quiet. Prediction - either he returns to being Father Corapi and is never heard of again or he is found to be off the deep end and far from his faith. I fear there is no middle ground for this man.
ReplyDeleteI worry for his health! He was having very serious health issues. He was a very very profound preacher of Truth! His words ring out in minds and hearts. He was attacked and for this we need pray because he is not attacked alone, as we all will come to the same confrontation particularly in the state of this nation! Heaven help us and please help Fr. Corapi as well! God is good and he did a world of good for all of us.
ReplyDeleteSeems strange and inconsiderate to his flock of followers for Corapi to drop off the map completely without informing them what's going on.
ReplyDeleteNo longer in the public purvue is maybe what he WANTS as well as instructed, I am certain the Good God and His Holy Mother is enjoying this chit chat : (
DeleteI pray he is well. I can't help but think of the verses in Matthew 12 -
ReplyDelete"When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest, but he finds none. Then he says, `I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and brings with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. So shall it be also with this evil generation."
You are in my prayers Fr. Corapi.
When I met Fr. Corapi during a book signing hour at one of his conferences in Lowell, MA, a few years ago, I asked him to please pray for my son Benjamin who was in deep spiritual trouble within himself and with God. Fr. Corapi said that it was a deal... he would pray for my son, if I would pray for him!(meaning himself-FR. Corapi) I was always taken by his answer... realizing that Father, who had "body pray-guards" around him... that he was under attack daily!
ReplyDeleteDear God, please grace and strengthen Fr. Corapi to choose You in all his ways.
Thanks for your goodness.
DeleteI, too, was at Father Corapi's Conference in Lowell, MA in 2007. I recall that a young priest said the closing Mass with an amazing homily about how Father Corapi personally helped him in his vocation.
DeleteThere is a priest in the diocese of Little Rock Ar who had a 5 year affair with someone I know. To cover it up, he destroyed many lives...including mine. instead of the Bishop dealing with him, he just transferred him to another parish. Same thing happened there...But, someone in authority caught him....Bishop was forced to send him away to "priest jail". A year later he was back in our parishes. A popular priest who claims he was treated "unjustly" and has never owned any of his behavior. Funny thing, last week at Church our associate pastor referred to this priest as " A man who is committed to Chasity and celibacy" while announcing the "BIG SPREAD" for his 25 year anniversary of Ordination. I almost puked. At least Coropi owned his behavior.
ReplyDeletePray for us. Pray for Father Corapi. This world is hell.
DeleteWhy are ALL your posters anonymous? Is there shame in posting ones own name? I have every faith that Fr is doing what is necessary as per instructs as to his attorneys per his civil suit.
ReplyDeleteIf PEOPLE who are so educated as YOU all appear to be and do not realize that once a lawsuit is in progress there are constraints that are put in place, thats a show of lack of real intellect.
This page does not seem to be written in charity. If John Anthony Corapi, as he is now known, although he is 'forever priest' as that is an unremovable sacrament, as surely you all know. IF JAC chooses to live as he so wishes, he does not need your approval or wondering as to his doings.
Why is it such an insist he return to SOLT, his order that has a superior and Bishop that did a dastardly deed by having a 3 person panel of 'Professional catholics' determine Frs Guilt within a 2 week span. THAT was 'RICH'. BTW what the heck is a professional CATHOLIC? We are all in the same Catholic family. OHHHH thats right they are psychritrists. DID these PRO CATHOLICS do a search down on the accuser one Tamra Sexton and her husband Matthew Sprinkle. YES I will name her and all accusers... ITS about time ALL accusors of priests get thier names at top billing along with the accused priests. ENOUGH with the protection of potentional liars and thiefs or worse.
I am still amazed at the glee MEN find in gossiping on Frs plight. Its coming off as judgement and joy at his troubles. This is a grave sin as well you know. It is sickening to read the 'gossip' of men. I could vomit. But again the Pharisees were men and the biggest gossipers in town.
Take a deep breath and why dont YOU ALL MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS..JUST as millions of us are doing.
BTW I would love to post my pic. I am NOT the sligtest bit scared or ashamed to do so. People who hide behind anonymous and wouldnt dream of placing thier face to match their words are patheic wimps.
DeleteEsther, Because you posted your name, in less than 1 minute I was able to access more information on you then I care to know. You have an open face book, postings of whom I assume are your children, and family. I am telling you this to let you know that it is not wise to EVER publish personal information on a public website.
DeleteI am a woman, and would NEVER put myself or family at risk like you have done.
You are wise to change your face book privacy settings so strangers cannot access your personal information. NEVER use your full name. most people on websites have usernames. Please talk to your spouse, children, to help you set privacy settings and advice you on appropriate ways of posting on the internet.
A... I appreciate your concern, the new FB timeline does NOT allow for a total lock up ALL people. The new FB pages are open. Prior to this my FB wall was a vault.
DeleteI am not intimadeted by anyone or thing. MY familys names are NOT LISTED. I would think as a woman who cares about this society YOU would put yourself in the world of conversation, be it offensive or not. W. your name.
I have been doing this form of converstaion via the NET since prior to Obamas election and I saw what EVIL he held. Also PLEASE know I am ready for anyone who wishes to do me any harm.
Funny thing Anonymous I have made some of the BEST FRIENDS on the internet and Fb. its amazing when people have shared visions. You ought to come out of your LOCKED UP ANONYMOUS CLOSET and join in.
I HAVE PUT myself and family at RISK? If that is the case then we best be ready to take up arms to defend ourselves. And we have done just that.
May I guess your opines...mmmm lets see an Obama voter, thus rendering you a pro abort by simple voting for him. As to Fr. Corapi you see HIM as guilty as charged as given to him in two weeks notice.
AS to my naming the accusors?? They have PUT their names all over the internet and have asked for friendship to many Catholics, many who have opted out. I am certain the esteemed Krestner is well awares as to these accusers and their goings on. IF so he did leave them out of this piece. HE could NOT have NOT KNOWN as he is a research writer w.this blog of his. COULD it be that he wishes Corapi ill will? Only Krestner knows the full answer to that.
Again madam I KNOW my PRIVACY settings and am working w/FB to set up more stringent privacy laws. SINCE 2007 I have used my full name and know of hunndreds that do. YOU sound rather fearful, oops not sound YOU ARE. REST in your fear and think you protect yourself and loved ones. IN fact YOU do NOT as there are ways your e mail and name can be easily garnered. BUT again a woman as you would not say anything that would be the slightest bit controversy. Thats SAD especially in this time of country and church peril.
Only fools post their names all over the internet Esther. For instance, I know exactly where you live and what you did for a living. That only took a few minutes. Imagine if I were a psychopath...
DeleteWell maybe YOU are a psychopath if you speak as such................MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS post their names and are on all sorts of social networks as well.including POLITICAL... For some REASON ..just a GOOD FEELING I have been blessed w.the gift of knowing the Good God has special agents, angels focused on me. YOUR the fool for posting so foosishly. ITS a KNOWN FACT that ALL PEOPLE can be found on the computer even those who do no posting whatsoever on the net. WOW you just found that OUT?
DeleteAll I know is that I miss Fr. John and hearing him preach.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Anonymous posts, I always post that way because I do not have any of the accounts and it is just easier. Never paid attention to being able to post my name. Always in a hurry I guess! Sorry for offending anyone!
Anyway, if you should happen to read this, may God be with you, Fr. Corapi, and I pray you are well and we will hear from you again soon!
So, as a follower of Fr Corapi about 5 years ago, I decided to search his name today to see what happened recently. I typed in www.theblacksheepdog.com and up popped A Catholic social media site...very strange. To my surprise also were blog posts by a Tamra Sexton- I recognized her name as one of John Corapi's accusers. Anyone else see or know about this?
ReplyDeleteShe had been associated with him for at least 10 years. Whether or not she has much to do with all of the various accusations that SOLT mentioned is questionable. It is because of her that he violated his promise of poverty? Is it because of her that he has not lived in his "community" (a requirement of canon law) for several years?
DeleteTo clarify, the investigation began at about the same time that he filed a civil complaint in early April. It had been going on at least until the point in late June that he submitted a letter or resignation. For the next two weeks after that was announced, he made various statements to put the blame for his situation on others, and so then SOLT made their statement as they felt he was misleading people. During the three months or so that the investigation was underway, his office manager from the first statement of support resigned and apparently she did talk to the investigators. It seems the investigators never spoke to Tamra, perhaps because of the civil suit and her nondisclosure agreement, but did speak to assorted other witnesses.
Beyond what witnesses may have said, Bishop Thomas of Helena stated that he had spoken to John Corapi some five years ago and did not provide him with faculties from the diocese as he does not permit freelance priests in the diocese. Per canon 745, a priest member of a Society of Apostolic Life that has lived outside of his community beyond 3 years must submit to the bishop in the diocese where he resides in order to have faculties.
Mr Daniel Humm you know well you have distorted and twisted the truths. YOU have been involved in arguments in regards to this matter on such sites, LimeCatsfor Corapi. A MOCKING site of Fr. DANIEL knows full well. I suggest that any that are interested go to ONWARD STDT this is a site that has done verbal battles along w.many peoples who speak on behlaf of Fr, Corapi. Mr Humm has a way with words to make him sound all knowledgable when in fact he MISSES the donut for the hole. JUST take a gander at the above page. ITS on FB...............the other sites to take a gander at are Lime Cats Crying for Corapi page also on Fb, YOU will well possibly Daniel Humm there as well. HE IS NOT NOR FOR YEARS been a defender of Fr. Its so interesting to see how 20 years of preaching as NO PREACHERothen the style Blessed Fulton Sheen......Fr Corapi has brought MILLIONS TO THE FAITH with the TRUTH on faith............HIS order initally set him by way up his first superior as to the form of LIFE he lived as a 'Preacher Priest'. HE lives in a humble residence and lives simply. OH YEAH DANIEL hop on the HARLEY BANDWAGON. Many a priest I have known have owned vacation homes, MOTORCYCLES and other material items. THIS did not make them any less prestly or GODLY. AND who are you MR HUMM to presume to know EXACT what was set up as to Frs Original WORK? This was granted to him by Bishop Gracida of Texas BTW.
DeleteRegardless of what might have been set up for Corapi's work, the question should be whether or not such an arrangement is permitted by canon law. The original arrangement was prior to SOLT even having any authority to provide faculties, as they were at the time only a private association of the faithful. So initially Bishop Gracida would have had to incardinate him in the Diocese of Corpus Christi until such time as he had approved SOLT's status of a Society of Apostolic Life a few years later. Bishop Gracida had indicated that he was incardinated with SOLT, and so at the point that SOLT had the authority to incardinate him he would have been excardinated by the Diocese. But canon law is very clear as to members of Societies of Apostolic Life, and canon 745 is clear that after an extended absence he would have to submit to the local bishop. It is also very clear on other obligations of such societies, so rather than waste your time seeing what a facebook page says see the canon law on the Vatican website at http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG1104/__P2G.HTM
DeleteMaybe Father applied for faculties from the bishop of whatever diocese he would be preaching in. Would that work? For example, before coming to Anytown, USA, Father sends a letter to the local bishop asking for faculties to preach. Bishop grants permission for a certain time period. Father arrives in Anytown for the Conference. Preaches with faculties from the local bishop. Father leaves conference and loses faculties from that local bishop. And then he goes through the same process for the next conference...
DeleteIs that legit?
If so, then your argument is moot.
Hello, YOU sound like a GREAT SOUL who loves Fr as so many millions still do. WHO knows if what you say will work...........BUT I DO BELIEVE "HES GONNA BE BACK IN SOME CAPACITY and knock the socks off ALL" Hes our TIMES 'John The Baptist'...NOT to fear in time he will be back. God Bless and Mary Keep you.
DeleteSo the theory would be that John Corapi worked as some type of rent-a-priest? He did not have faculties where he lived, but could pick some up for a week-end a few times a year? Obviously, the public administration of the Sacraments were not important to his business ministry. And once he has been cleared of "false accusations" against him by a woman that had been a close colleague for several years, he can once again obtain weekend faculties in order to get his for-profit corporation that is not affiliated with the Catholic Church and not under the authority of any bishop or religious superior up and going again while it advises people that he is a priest in good-standing? I would tend to believe him when he said that things "will never be the same again", "don't look back" and "I am not going to be involved in public ministry as a priest any longer."
DeleteMy point, dear Daniel, is that if various bishops did give him faculties to preach in their diocese, then the issue of "faculties", which you so glibly raise, is solved. I know of international priests who visit this or that rectory for a few months; they have to apply for faculties from the local ordinary for the time period they will be in their diocese.
DeleteNormally the faculty to priest is a universal faculty that is acquired through the priest's ordinary, once he has it he could presumably preach anywhere. The canon reads: "Can. 764 Without prejudice to the provisions of can. 765, priests and deacons, with the at least presumed consent of the rector of a church, have the faculty to preach everywhere, unless this faculty has been restricted or removed by the competent Ordinary, or unless particular law requires express permission."
DeleteSo in Corapi's case, his faculties may have been restricted by the competent Ordinary (per canon 745, Bishop Thomas being his bishop of residence) due to him being what Bishop Thomas called a free-lance priest. All that seems would have been necessary (at least prior to the "letter") would have been for him to move back in with his community so that SOLT could legitimately provide him with faculties.
The way he advertised his standing on his website was: "Ecclesiastical Status: Perpetually professed priest in good standing with the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity, a society of apostolic life of the diocesan rite with headquarters in Robstown, Texas. " (Should have said "diocesan right"). It could be that SOLT was saying the same thing. What it doesn't say is that he has faculties once they are provided to him by the bishop in the diocese in which the conference occurs, on a day by day basis.
It would seem that in the past few years he did not publicly act as the principal celebrant at Mass, nor was he hearing confessions. So is the thinking that it was well understood that John Corapi was in good standing by having faculties for the purpose of preaching for maybe 6 days out of the year when he was doing a conference?
Perhaps Al Kresta might have Michael Gallagher back on to give his opinions on canon law and how it applies to the faculties of priests, particularly those that travel from diocese to diocese to give conferences and sell their media products.
DeleteGood standing and faculties are two different things. Father Solanus Casey was in good standing, but he had no faculties to preach or hear confessions. Fr Corapi was in good standing - until the suspension. But even while being in good standing, he may not have had the faculties to preach everywhere. I remember once in 2005, he was planning to preach somewhere, but a local bishop refused to give him permission - saying that he was "too divisive of an influence" and therefore does not have the permission of the bishop to preach in that diocese. So, the conference was moved to a different diocese, wherein Fr. Corapi received the permission to preach there.
DeleteMy point, dear Daniel, is that your occupation with faculties - as it concerns Fr. Corapi's 20 year ministry - is probably still moot.
One more point, that might muddy my waters: I know a priest who came to our diocese to celebrate a Mass using the Extraordinary Form. He had to obtain a copy of his faculties from his local ordinary and present them to the pastor before he could celebrate the Mass and preach.
DeleteAs for Fr. Corapi's situation, it is probably what I have detailed above.
NO one knows if his office manager EVER spoke to the investigators. Tamra posted a letter that supposedly was from her on Crying for Corapi FB page. Her email was typed like a letter not an email, PLUS it contradicted what the office manager, Bobbi said in an article in The Sunday Visitor.. She stated she could not say anything about the situation. Bobbi's email address was never verified and the post of the email was removed from Crying for Corapi as it could not be corroborated.
DeleteNot being able to comment to OSV does not mean that she could not comment to the investigators when they approached her.
DeleteShe said in the article that she could not comment on anything due to her nondisclosure agreement with Santa Cruz Media.
Delete"Contacted last month by OSV, Ruffatto said she resigned from the company on May 31. 'I am deeply saddened by the situation but cannot comment further,' Ruffatto told OSV."
DeleteShe makes no mention of a nondisclosure agreement. She was able to comment that she was saddened, but could not comment further to OSV. There is nothing there that precludes the possibility that she was able to answer questions from investigators. I'd think the suggestion that she was not able to answer questions from the investigators dues to a nondisclosure contract would make John Corapi look even worse, but then I don't believe that he prevented her from responding.
The letter was NOT VERIFIED and was taken down. So I guess it doesn't matter why Bobbi would not say anything!
DeleteThe point is mute because no one COULD or maybe no one WOULD verify the so called letter!
Daniel when you go before the Lord to be judged, remember one thing, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET THE LAST WORD IN!
Yes I do. SHE is one of the ACCUSERS as well her 6th husband or was it fifth? Matthew Sprinkle. If only SOLT would have looked deep into this accuser and her background as well her supposed felon husband LIFES ...THEY would possibly have seen the LIES and DISTORTIONS ALL AROUND them as ants on a dropping. Dreadful what has occured.
ReplyDeleteCould it be that they were familiar with her background and that is part of their report? If she had so many previous husbands, was it a Sacramental abuse if John Corapi was minister at her most recent wedding as she claimed?
Deleteho hummmmm....why dont you ask him about that hummmm instead of your speculating gossip.
DeleteAnonymous knows how to get a question to be answered by him? Esther gossips about multiple husbands, and a question as to whether it would be a sacramental abuse to perform one more is "speculating gossip"? Very choosy about what you consider gossip.
DeleteI believe what's behind her accusation is REVENGE. Fr. Corapi, in one of his 2010 conferences, said (imprudently in my estimation) that his 2 key employees were alcoholics (that would be the woman and her husband). This was soon after Father had recently fired them from working with him (something I think he should have done years ago). Right after that, the accusation came in.
DeleteREVENGE tends to make people bend the truth in order to satisfy their insatiable appetite.
He revealed at a public conference that they were alcoholics? Isn't that detraction? Seems like a pre-emptive strike on his part.
DeleteSomeone was nice enough to provide the citation in the Catechism for detraction. Paragraph 2477 says in part that a person is guilty: "of detraction who, without objectively valid reason, discloses another's faults and failings to persons who did not know them." It would certainly seem like there was no reason to reveal to the public that his former employees were alcoholics, does it?
DeleteIt was in a talk about Addictions. I think he used it to give an example of living with people suffering from this. I think it was something like "The Battlefront of Addictions." Pre-emptive strike? Who knows. Imprudent? Yes. Reason for her revenge? Probably.
DeleteCorapi should attend to his own addictions.
DeleteWe all have addictions. I suggest you attend to yours before you worry about someone elses. For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.(Luke 6:43)
DeleteEsther, you do know that TamRa and Mr Corapi met when he hired her as a prostitute and he presented himself as a businessman named John Coradi. Don't be so quick to cast aspersions.
ReplyDeleteRick, I KNOW the exact meeting of them and how it came to pass that 10 years later she seeked assistance from him ..as to HOW he was an ordained priest. She knew his goodness as to helping those in dire needs as he once was. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lets make it be known what transpired before his priesthood and after in his assit w.her and her husband and family was indeed an act of kindness. NOW as to gossip HUMM you have slandered FR w.asumptions and blather on the cannon law that you want others to beleive your so wise on. When point of fact if people were to check YOU OUT on GOOGLE it would be stunning as to the HATRED you have posted via 'so called canon law in Frs direction'. take a good look in the mirror. YOU do know much of the discource in arguments you had on the certain pages???? THEY were all preserved for posterity. SO FOLKS the real Daniel Humm hangs w/a lawyer who is a defender of pornographers and mocks/ makes jokes INBETWEEN quoting from canon law. THIS is the type man you are dealing with, I KNOW of him well and his RANTINGS on these pages. MANY MANY people of Daniel HUMM and his rants ......I mean as in the dozens and dozens.
DeleteIs it an assumption on my part that Father Corapi has not lived in the SOLT community for well beyond three years? Did Bishop Thomas not say in an interview that he did not grant faculties to Father Corapi as he does not permit freelance priests in the diocese as was reported in this story http://ncronline.org/news/people/corapi-i-wont-leave-montana-live-order?
DeleteSo exactly how is that HATRED?
Esther's description of events seem a bit confusing. So is Esther saying that they met some 25 years ago prior to his conversion experience? She had been working for him in recent years for about ten years or so, dating back to his days in Sacramento. She was there with him at the hospital when his medical suit came up, and so you could read a bit about her in the book "Coronary".
DeleteCorapi hired T.Sexton as a prostitute and used the alias Coradi. In 1999 Corapi was arrested and charged with a DUI at that time he was using the alias Coradi and Corapi. Public records in Sacramento show Corapi's DUI arrest record and the alias he used.
DeleteStill Gossiping about Father Corapi, I think it is better that he is silent, But it is killing all the Yentas that try to pass themselves off as Catholics. I believe in Father Corapi's innocence and will pray for him. The accuser and her cohorts have exposed themselves. You will know them by their fruits. Father Corapi led many to the Catholic faith. what have the people who spend so much time gossiping about him done? NADA. May God Bless You Father Corapi,
ReplyDeleteIndeed YOU speak most wisely. I too NOW shall go back to my silence. The only thing that brought me out was to see that this TOPIC was brought up by Krester on this page. NO MORE.....
DeleteThe GOSSIP beleive or not is most by his HATERS. YES HATERS. They even have a page Mr Humm has visted called Lime Cat a spin off or paradoy where they speak this poor Mexican slang their image is a cat w/a lime sliced open on it to make as a boozed cat. NOW back to CANON LAW MR HUMM????
One trait that seems to pop up increasingly among Corapi's self righteous fans is their claim to possess extraordinary gifts of discernment, such as EVF's certainty about Anonymous' political affilliation and stance on abortion.
ReplyDeleteAnnelise.
Well Annelise I claim no such thing as self righteous. THAT is your words, I claim what I KNOW to be fact. YOU choose to beleive as you wish. I do have an UNCANNY ability to hone in on the obama supporters this is true...................ITS as a radar actually. AND in many ways I would say that those who voted 4 him and are Catholic have committed a more grave sin then Fr has been accused of. THEY partake in all aborts via fiat BY their casted vote for a baby killer via fiat to the point of NO AID to babys who survive an abortion receiving aid THUS live babies left to die. THIS my friend is what is called MURDER. How any person who with knowledge and forethought KNEW this about OBAMA and they should have as he was a proud advocate prior to the election can one day meet God and have a conversation about this matter and NOT be terrified is mind blowing. WOW.
DeleteThe foul-mouthed and cursed-filled rants about Father Corapi, and more disgustingly, against the Catholic Church, should be a BIG RED FLAG to any God-fearing person that FJC is innocent! Her multiple marriages, multiple divorces claiming extreme cruelty and gross neglect against her, arrest records, her current husband's arrest in 2010 for assault, her stories that contradict the other....does anybody need me to go on? Did anyone research TS? I did. County court records are out there. Please do not let her fool you. D Humm thinks he knows but he turns a blind eye when TS curses the Church and then turns around and blesses her FB friend in the next breath. He knows what I'm talking about...he has read her filth, seen her posting the lesbian love song youtube video. He has seen her smear this good priest, yet he says nothing. Humm has Facebook conversation with a cat with a lime on its head who bashes FJC. He engages in conversation with the xxx lawyer who has blasphemed, mocked Our Lady, JP II, and celibate priests. Humm has no room to discuss FJC's situation...he is not privy to anything...he just speculates. Please pray for priests, guilty or falsely accused, good or bad, alive or deceased. Do not speculate, judge, condemn, gossip.
ReplyDeleteGOOD on YOU.~ <3 WOW THANKS for speaking the truth. YES Mr hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm is very much ho hum as am uptop poster said.
DeleteAfter witnessing the disgusting behavior of The Father Corapi Haters, yes they were haters before any accusations even surfaced. Envy, Jealousy who knows what motivates the Ho Humms of this world I actually heard someone complain about Fathers"Basso Profundo Voice it was only when I heard his high pitched rather effeminate voice that a larger picture emerged with regard to the attack on Father. Father Corapi is a great Priest, led many to the Faith as well as renewing the Faith of many fallen away Catholics. I support Father Corapi and will continue to pray for him. As far as the Slime that continues to bash him I believe they have way too much time on their hands. Perhaps they need a Job, because they are devoting endless hours bashing and smearing a Priest. These people really need to get their own life right or better yet get a life.
DeleteDoes anyone have any problem reading canon law and seeing that canon 745 says: "The supreme moderator with the consent of the council can grant an indult to live outside the society to a definitively incorporated member, but not for more than three years; the rights and obligations which cannot be reconciled with the new condition of the member are suspended, but the member remains under the care of the moderators. If it concerns a cleric, moreover, the consent of the ordinary of the place in which he must reside is required, under whose care and dependence he also remains."
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone disagree that John Corapi lived outside of his community for well beyond 3 years? Bishop Thomas stated that five years ago he did not agree to faculties with Corapi as he does not allow free lance priests. So someone care to explain what faculties he has had over the past five years? If the accuser renounces her accusations, can anyone explain how Corapi could go on in the same manner while being both outside of the SOLT community and with no faculties from the local bishop?
In the book "Coronary" John Corapi was asked years ago what he would do if he were asked to give up his wealth and return to his community. He said that he hoped that he could, but it would be a test of faith and that he may not have to because of the ambiguity of canon law. This was years before any "letter" was sent. Did he simply fail the Test of Faith?
For someone that suggests that people should not "speculate, judge, condemn, gossip"; you certainly do a good deal of it in talking about the accuser, her husband and various other people on facebook. Apparently the rule only applies to one specific priest?
Has anyone seen Fr. Corapi actually say Mass?
ReplyDeleteDo you mean as the principal celebrant of the Mass during the past few years? I think I've seen him act as a concelebrant while giving the homily on EWTN and at one of his conferences, but I don't recall seeing him as the principal celebrant.
DeleteDaniel,
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have a fetish for quoting canon law yet even when the canon lawyer priest on Face Book told you something you went on and on even though you were in the wrong.

Such blasphemy, and yet you said NOTHING! For once in your life, when you should have had plenty to say, and you always do, you said NOTHING about a prayer written to mock the "Memorare"!!!
You don't have a problem with the lawyer , who defends pornography and prostitutes, that posts on that same page that you prattle on and on daily.
Joe XXX believes that lust is a gift from God, that the doctrine of The Immaculate Conception is false, and many other beliefs of our Catholic faith.
WHY,WHY,WHY, DANIEL IS IT ONLY IN FR. CORAPI THAT YOU HAVE A PROBLEM??? IS IT BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT REMOVED THAT PLANK FROM YOUR EYE?
As Catholics we are called to evangelize , even to those of our own faith.
Jesus said, "If a man is ashamed of ME AND MY DOCTRINE, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in glory and that of His Father and His holy angels" Luke 9:26 .
You own and operate a Catholic gift shop and yet YOU can't correct a fallen brother in the faith? Are you afraid they will ban you from the page that has a lime hat cat named El Bandito that you speak to without knowing who it was till it was revealed recently? In your gift shop bookstore, surely you have the Catholic Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church in stock. I think you need to review both, especially Part I on the Profession of the Faith, # 1832,,2475-79 and 2507 on calumny, and detraction .
You believe EVERYTHING Tamra has said and you know she has lied on numerous occasions, yet you can't give Fr.Corapi the benefit of the doubt?
S.O.L.T said they could not go on with the investigation , yet two weeks later they release a notice the likes of which no one has even done before. In fact one of their own priest apolozied to Fr. Corapi on his Black Sheepdog page.
Everyone on FB that has had any dealings with Tamra , knows she and Matt are very tech savvy. She tells people that she can trace them and knows where they live. She had access to Fr. Corapi's computers and often answered his mail without his knowledge.
She has said on FB numerous times F*^~ the Catholic Church, and she is the owner of the ONLINE CATHOLIC NETWORK. I only know this from posts people have copied as I am not on her list of 4000 friends. Had I been, I would have stood tall and told her that is MY church, the church I love, the Church that taught me my faith and introduced me to the source, the summit and the center of my faith the Eucharist were Jesus Christ comes to me body ,blood, soul, and divinity!I would have told her, love it or leave it but do NOT speak of Her in that way!
Maybe none of us will ever know until it is revealed to us by God himself at the final judgement.
Until that time , I will not judge Fr. Corapi, or Tamra. I know how his preaching has helped draw me back to the faith of my childhood. I continue to remember him and all falsely accused priests in my daily rosary. I suggest you do the same. After all he is an Alter Christus, and one of Mary's sons, and you know how mother's love their boys!
The canon lawyer never said that I was incorrectly quoting canon law, just that he did not want the case discussed on his forum with a reference as to not knowing all the circumstances. That was shortly after someone made a suggestion that it was unethical for a canon lawyer to discuss a case, so it is certainly possible that he might have a conflict of interest.
DeleteI've never indicated I believe anything that Tamra has said, saying multiple times that it is certainly possible that they are "false accusations" that he might be able to disprove in order to divert attention from the fact that he might already have been asked to return to his community and was refusing to do so. I don't know as SOLT never said that the accusations they have referred to are even connected to Tamra, they might be an entirely different set of accusations. I'm not on her fb friend list, but someone on her list was taking advantage of their status to make screen shots of what was not available to non-friends. I had been on the OCN, where she normally did not say anything despite the people that would get on there and harass her in order to try to get her to say something.
What was going on was a good deal of calumny regarding Bishop Mulvey and various other bishops. John Corapi, after his resignation letter, suggested that Bishop Mulvey had threatened SOLT with releasing a letter that he knew not to be true (whether it was or not) and referred to much of Church leadership as nothing but oxygen thieves. It was after two weeks worth of such statements by Corapi that SOLT made their own statement to correct the record. Apparently many of his supporters believe that the Catechism regarding calumny only apply to him, and are quite willing to spread their own calumny against anyone they determine is not a supporter of him. Obviously people are trying to dig into my own background for the purpose of trying to get me to stop. And exactly what have I said? That the length of the investigation is misrepresented? That his faculties would seem to be a problem even prior to the letter? That there are other issues involved besides sex, drugs and Tamra?
It is rather obvious that you have judged Corapi is innocent, Tamra is guilty, and anyone that does not agree better watch out as you will post whatever you can find out about them. As far as not reproaching others, you perhaps missed some statements as well as not having a clue as to private statements? You would not want anything to get in the way though would you?
And it is obvious that you were not a strong man in your faith to allow others to trash the Catholic religion and what it stands for. Spineless people can't stand. And as the good sisters used to say, "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything. Looks like you fell for the wiles of the devil Danny boy!
DeleteYou might have missed my responses due to blocking me, and of course there are other times that I've responded privately. I also don't spend nearly so much time on facebook as others seem to in order for them to have seen all of this other stuff having nothing to do with Corapi. One thing about the page being referred to is that John Corapi's staff acknowledged that they not only read it, but set up their own facebook page to mock it. There are obviously some advantages to posting on a page where you know that Corapi's staff reads it and you don't have to worry about them being able to delete your posts or block you from the page.
DeleteCorapi/ Coradi is a creep
DeleteDaniel really does need to get a life, he is all over Facebook spends a lot of time gossiping about Father Corapi to distract himself from his own serious psychological deformities. I am sure that Danny Boys story is a lot more wicked and disturbing then The silly stuff that Father Corapi was accused of. Whats in your Closet? HUMMMMMMMM
ReplyDeleteWho is this anonymous hiding their own problems?
DeleteThe " SILLY STUFF " Corapi is accused of and SOLT has found to be true - isn't so silly. Corapi has not only bashed the church but remains disobedient.
DeleteTuesday, July 5, 2011Press Release Concerning Fr John Corapi from SOLT Regional Priest Servant
July 5, 2011
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
From: Rev. Gerard Sheehan, SOLT Regional Priest Servant Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Robstown, Texas
Fr. John A. Corapi submitted his resignation from the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity ("SOLT") early in June. SOLT is a Society of Apostolic Life of Diocesan Right with its regional office in Robstown, Texas.
While SOLT does not typically comment publicly on personnel matters, it recognizes that Fr. John Corapi, through his ministry, has inspired thousands of faithful Catholics, many of whom continue to express their support of him. SOLT also recognizes that Fr. Corapi is now misleading these individuals through his false statements and characterizations. It is for these Catholics that SOLT, by means of this announcement, seeks to set the record straight.
A woman, well known to Fr. John Corapi, mailed SOLT a signed letter detailing allegations of Fr. Corapi's sexual activity with adult women, abuse of alcohol and drugs, improper sacramental practices, violation of his promise of poverty, and other wrongdoing.
After receiving the allegation, SOLT formed a three person fact-finding team to ensure that it handled this matter in accordance with canonical norms. The team included a priest-canonist, a psychiatrist, and a lawyer. Two were members of religious orders, and one was a lay Catholic. Two were men, and one was a woman. All three have national reputations and substantial experience in ecclesiastical processes related to priest disciplinary issues.
As the Society was engaging this team, Fr. Corapi filed a civil lawsuit against his principal accuser. He contended that she had defamed him and breached her contract. The contract, according to Corapi's lawsuit, contained a provision binding the woman to silence about him. He offered the woman $100,000 to enter this agreement.
SOLT's fact-finding team subsequently learned that Fr. Corapi may have negotiated contracts with other key witnesses that precluded them from speaking with SOLT's fact-finding team. Many of these witnesses likely had key information about the accusations being investigated and declined to answer questions and provide documents.
When the fact-finding team asked Fr. Corapi to dismiss the lawsuit, to forbear from foreclosing his mortgage, and to release her and other individuals from their contractual obligations to remain silent about him, he refused to do so and, through his canonical advocate, stated: "It is not possible for Father Corapi to answer the Commission's questions at this time."
SOLT's fact-finding team has acquired information from Fr. Corapi's e-mails, various witnesses, and public sources that, together, state that, during his years of public ministry:
He did have sexual relations and years of cohabitation (in California and Montana) with a woman known to him, when the relationship began, as a prostitute; He repeatedly abused alcohol and drugs; He has recently engaged in sexting activity with one or more women in Montana; He holds legal title to over $1 million in real estate, numerous luxury vehicles, motorcycles, an ATV, a boat dock, and several motor boats, which is a serious violation of his promise of poverty as a perpetually professed member of the Society.
SOLT has contemporaneously with the issuance of this press release directed Fr. John Corapi, under obedience, to return home to the Society’s regional office and take up residence there. It has also ordered him, again under obedience, to dismiss the lawsuit he has filed against his accuser.
DeleteSOLT's prior direction to Fr. John Corapi not to engage in any preaching or teaching, the celebration of the sacraments or other public ministry continues. Catholics should understand that SOLT does not consider Fr. John Corapi as fit for ministry.
Father Sheehan will not be available for comments as he is attending the SOLT General Chapter from July 5-23.
For anyone to say this is "silly" isn't playing with a full deck.
Esther and Anonymous " totally clueless ".

Dear Matt and Tamra,
I want you both to know that I resigned from Santa Cruz Media around the beginning of last month, as I could not support the direction John Corapi was taking. He is leading good Catholics away from the Church and is causing them to fight and bicker amongst themselves....not to mention his personal lifestyle choices.
I spoke with [name redacted], the attorney investigator for SOLT. I was able to provide him some information, as I was constrained only by the terms of my employment contract that prevented me from disclosing business information...He...asked me to please reach out to you and let you know that it is very important that you contact him. I believe what you say, and I think he does too.
After seeing what people are doing online to the two of you, I am very frightened about my name getting out there. However, if it does, so be it. The truth is the truth, and I am deeply concerned for Fr. Corapi's eternal soul. I pray that he returns home to his order. The two of you remain in my prayers as well.
Peace & Blessings,
Bobbi Ruffatto
Tamra posted a letter that supposedly was from her on Crying for Corapi FB page. Her email was typed like a letter not an email, PLUS it contradicted what the office manager, Bobbi said in an article in The Sunday Visitor.. Bobbi's email address was never verified and the post of the email was removed from Crying for Corapi as it could not be corroborated.
DeleteThis email looks like the real deal and Ms.Ruffatto hasn't denied it.Perhaps Dr.Corapi could come clean and clear things up.

Rick, I KNOW the exact meeting of them and how it came to pass that 10 years later she seeked assistance from him ..as to HOW he was an ordained priest.
Esther stop your ranting and crazy talk. You don't know what your talking about, so zip it until you get the facts right.
Danny Boy has too much time on his hands but how did Danny Boy meet The accuser?? They are quite chummy also are they related he is certainly her numero uno Fan, If you want to know the truth about someone just look at what he accuses other people of. I would surmise that that Dummy Hummy has exposed himself as a fraud, a No Goodnick whos self righteous pious tone is only a mask for a deeply disturbed gossip, whos envy of Father Corapi is rotting his soul. He cannot take it fills his days and nights.
Deletelet's hope Corapi doesn't come back and try to "SELL STUFF"
DeleteOkay Anonymous COME OTTA your closet and say YOUR REAL NAME. Untill that moment YOU sir or lady shut the trap door which is YOUR MOUTH. YOUR insults show your lack of decency......YOUR UGLY in your soul w.your hatred, GOD should have mercy on YOU!
DeleteMs Sexton was at the Knights of Columbus presentation of Father Corapi in Arlington Heights, Illinois about 4 years ago. Ms. Sexton was selling tapes etc. I spoke with her about her life traveling with Father Corapi and she spoke that she had moved to Montana to serve his ministry. I mentioned that I would appreciate making contact with Father as I was seeking council as how to best serve the church in a more public manner. She spoke about that and that I could call her. Her attitude and behavior induced a chilling affect within me and I felt it immediately as I walked away. And the thought came to me why Father would have this person performing this job. It did not feel right. Last summer when I first heard what had transpired I asked who and what with no reply and I immediately knew that these allegations had some connection with this woman. This is horrible and we all know it and so does she. It is not believable that any allegations of any sort are based upon truth. Father simply put has done nothing wrong. When Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail He might well have said that the gates of hell sure as hell are going to try and we Catholics are giving him room and so are the church leaders. Wrong is wrong but so is right right. I know in my heart that Father has done nothing that would not be Christ like. He went through too much to go back to wherever he began and he certainly would do nothing to tarnish his memory of and his continuing relationship with his decease parents and especially his own dad. As anyone that reads this might surmise I am very serious of that which I say here.
ReplyDeleteHe is as guilty as they come !

Sorry this is silly I agree I can't believe anyone is still interested in he said she said,
ReplyDeleteJust a bunch of gossips that have no life. I enjoyed watching Fr.Corapi. Move on guys! There is more to life then gossiping about Father Corapi!
What would you have said, my dear brethren, if you had been living during the time of St. Nicholas and you had seen him coming in the middle of the night, walking around the house of three young girls, watching carefully and taking good care that no one saw him. Just look at that bishop, you would have thought at once, degrading and dishonouring his calling; he is a dreadful hypocrite. He seems to be a saint when he is in church, and look at him now, in the middle of the night, at the door of three girls who do not have a very good reputation! And yet, my dear brethren, this bishop, who would certainly have been condemned by you, was indeed a very great saint and most dear to God. What he was doing was the best deed in the world. In order to spare these young persons the shame of begging, he came in the night and threw money in to them through their window because he feared that it was poverty which had made them abandon themselves to sin. This should teach us never to judge the actions of our neighbour without having reflected very well beforehand. Even then, of course, we are only entitled to make such judgments if we are responsible for the behaviour of the people concerned, that is, if we are parents or employers, and so on. As far as all others are concerned, we are nearly always wrong. Yes indeed, my brethren, I have seen people making wrong judgments about the intentions of their neighbour when I have known perfectly well that these intentions were good. I have tried in vain to make them understand, but it was no good. Oh! Cursed pride, what evil you do and how many souls do you lead to Hell! Answer me this, my dear brethren. Are the judgments which we make about the actions of our neighbour any better founded than those which would have been made by anyone who might have seen St. Nicholas walking around that house and trying to find the window of the room wherein were the three girls? It is not to us that other people will have to render an account of their lives, but to God alone. But we wish to set ourselves up as judges of what does not concern us. The sins of others are for others, that is, for themselves, and our sins are our own business. God will not ask us to render an account of what others have done but solely of what we ourselves have done. Let us watch over ourselves, then, and not torment ourselves so much about others, thinking over and talking about what they have done or said. All that, my dear brethren, is just so much labor lost, and it can only arise from a pride comparable to that of the Pharisee who concerned himself solely with thinking about and misjudging his neighbour instead of occupying himself with thoughts of his own sins and weeping for his own poor efforts. Let us leave the conduct of our neighbour on one side, my dear brethren, and content ourselves with saying, like the holy King David: Lord, give me the grace to know myself as I really am, so that I may see what displeases Thee, and how to correct it, repent, and obtain pardon.
DeleteNo, my dear brethren, while anyone passes his time in watching the conduct of other people, he will neither know nor belong to God. ST. JOHN VIANNEY

DeleteThe below are my comments on the situation of Fr. Corapi regarding the charges that have been leveled against him. I may appear uncharitable in places as that is a weakness that I struggle with. I have tried to convey my thoughts as charitably as I am able. Please forgive me if I have failed to do this in any way.
ReplyDeleteJohn Stevens
I am one who still supports Fr. Corapi. I do not adulate people no matter who they are. I do not place Fr. Corapi on a pedestal. But for God’s grace he is capable of anything. I would like to offer a number of things for consideration. They may not be in order.
1) The accuser of Fr. Corapi is his god daughter. He has said for a long time that she needs prayer because she and her husband have been struggling with drug addiction for many years. He commented on this during his conference in San Antonio in August, 2010. He may have commented on this even earlier. He said he has tried to help them overcome their problems and that they need help. If you read the lawsuit he has filed against her you will see that the confidentiality statement is quite appropriate for the circumstances. She lists in her LinkedIn profile that she is the owner of Santa Cruz Media and also has tried to take his copyrighted moniker “The Black Sheep Dog” as her own. This is theft. Fr. Corapi has a right to sue her for protection of his property. If she has lied, he also has a right to sue her for damage to his good name. Many have claimed that the $100,000 she has received is hush money to keep her quiet. This is not at all clear. As she is his god daughter, he has tried desperately to help them over the years. I am sure this includes, but is not limited to, financial compensation.
2) Fr. Corapi initially said he would co-operate with the investigation despite disagreeing with the process. Bishop Rene Gracida advised him that he could not clear his name through the canonical process in the Diocese of Corpus Christi and suggested he proceed civilly. On that basis Fr. Corapi filed the suit. Depending on the diocese the canonical process may or may not work. In my opinion, Bishop Gracida is one of the best bishops we have had in the U.S. in many years. Someone I know asked Fr. John Hardon back around 2001 AD what he thought of the condition of the hierarchy in the U.S. Fr. Hardon responded that he thought there were about 6 bishops that were 100% faithful to the teachings of the Church. He felt there were about 40 bishops that were pretty much faithful to the teachings of the Church. Fr. Hardon then said that he considered the rest to be ‘non-believers’. I would consider Bishop Gracida to be one of the 6. Well, the hierarchy in the U.S. has definitely improved since 2001 but it is obvious that there is a lot rot still existing in places.
3) Read closely everything that Bishop Gracida has had to say. He definitely does not appear to be distancing himself from Fr. Corapi as some bloggers have suggested. As a good bishop, he has stated correctly that he does not have personal knowledge of the particulars of the charges against Fr. Corapi. He continues to state that what the Diocese of Corpus Christi and SOLT have done is wrong. By saying that he had hopefully placed his last post on the matter he was saying that he would not participate in the back and forth fighting that is going on between those who either support or oppose Fr. Corapi.
4) I have a problem with some of the statements by SOLT. Fr. Sheehan stated in NCR that Fr. Corapi was suspended in accordance with Canon Law. I could not find any statute that would mandate such action. I wrote to Fr. Sheehan and he sent me a response referring to statute 1722. Well, the local bishop can do pretty much whatever he wants, but statute 1722 does not call for suspension as it occurred with Fr. Corapi. I think Bishop Gracida has also indicated this was wrong. One of the problems we have had over the last 40 years or so is that heterodox prelates have used obedience as a hammer to destroy orthodox priests. A reading of the Catholic Encyclopedia on ‘Religious Obedience’ would be very instructive. This obedience is not absolute and its application to Fr. Corapi’s case is confusing at best. There is the example of St. Padre Pio who submitted to injustice and lies in all humility. There is tremendous grace in this approach. Then there is the approach of directly fighting lies and injustice. Fr. Corapi is a fighter and this is the approach he seems to be taking. It doesn’t sit well with those who would seek to silence him. My initial reaction has been that the Padre Pio approach is preferred but Bishop Gracida seems to support Fr. Corapi’s approach. Due to the fact that I consider Bishop Gracida one of the finest prelates we have ever had, I reserve judgement.
Delete5) It is not at all clear that SOLT has ordered Fr. Corapi back to headquarters prior to their recent statement. In NCR in April, Fr. Sheehan had talked about the original arrangement with Fr. Corapi and other priests prior to 1994 where they were expected to provide for themselves. He stated that the constitution had since changed. New priests were now provided for by SOLT. Fr. Sheehan said that they were looking at ways to bring the older priests under the new constitution. In the same statement he said that they never realized that Fr. Corapi’s ministry would become so profitable. That last part speaks volumes. SOLT was interested in bringing Fr. Corapi’s ministry in house although his statements seem to suggest that they were looking at their options in this matter (reconciling priests who were not under the new constitution). In my opinion, that would have been a good thing for Fr. Corapi’s spiritual development. However, I think SOLT should have been more forth right about their motivations. I am sure it was for his spiritual well being but the money was also on Fr. Sheehan’s mind.
6) I don’t believe that SOLT had required Fr. Corapi to return prior to his suspension. Fr. Sam Medly stated that he was trying to get his superiors to demand this but that his requests were not acted upon. In late June Fr. Sheehan stated in NCR that he was disappointed that Fr. Corapi had decided to resign but that SOLT would assist him in this transition – all the while taking care to protect his good name. Barely a week later Fr. Sheehan issued his statement declaring that Fr. Corapi was guilty of abusing alcohol and drugs, sexting, cohabitation, sacramental abuse, and that he was unfit for ministry. Fr. Sheehan stated that contemporaneously with the release of his July 5th statement he was demanding that Fr. Corapi return under obedience and drop the lawsuit. It seems that this was the first demand under obedience that was made. It may, or may not , have been suggested earlier. It certainly wasn’t demanded as Fr. Medley indicated in his statements. It is my feeling that Fr. Corapi would have been required, under obedience, to obey a demand for his return to headquarters before the accusations and suspension occurred. So as to protect his civil rights, I do not believe he is required, under obedience, to obey the demand at this time.
7)In late June Fr. Sheehan promised to do all possible to protect Fr. Corapi’s good name. On July 5th he and Fr. Medley participated in a serious violation of the Eighth Commandment by detraction against Fr. Corapi’s good name. Whether the accusations are true or not – SOLT had no business as a Catholic society in making such information public. You talk about saying one thing and doing another.
Delete8)Some have criticized Fr. Corapi for bragging by always telling his story about his past and conversion. With all the adulation that many give to Father I agree that he must always be cautious about pride and I suspect that he struggles (not always successfully) with this. However, Father is not always bragging about his past. He mentions it frequently but not always. I maintain that it is a necessary part of his ministry. Many in our society (including modernist Catholics) think that having vast wealth, sex with beautiful movie stars, moving in prestigious circles, etc. is the equivalent of going to heaven. They would give anything for that life. Well, Fr. Corapi was able to tell them that he had been there and done that. It left him totally unfulfilled and ultimately destitute, homeless, and nearly dead on the street, completely deserted by all the beautiful people who couldn’t care less whether he lived or died. Father was able to speak from experience that fulfillment was in surrender to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and not to the lures of Satan. Few were able to convey this message as well as he.
9)Despite claiming to be objective and praying for Father Corapi, most bloggers who have their writings posted on New Advent have almost salivated at any opportunity to cast aspersion on Father from the beginning. A few bloggers have tuned down their rhetoric and become more charitable. However, many of the bloggers continue to role in the mud. One has claimed that he never had anything bad to say about Fr. Corapi until he resigned in June. However, in April he was claiming that the accused was the only one acting appropriately and that the VP at Santa Cruz Media was just a fetch bucket for Fr. Corapi. They do Catholic discourse a serious injustice.
10) Regarding Father’s appearance – age and poor health will definitely change one from looking young and vibrant into one who looks old and on the downside of life. It is what it is. I have no idea why he now dyes his beard. Perhaps it is a vain attempt to offset the ravages of time. Haven’t we all been a little vain at times? Regarding his tan I can speak with authority. I am an expert in health and wellness. Father suffered from severe vitamin D deficiency which has devastating effects on one’s health. The best remedy for D deficiency is a lot of sun exposure. He understandably enlisted the aid of a personal trainer to help restore his wasted health and physical condition. However, I do believe his choice of a female trainer was problematic.
11) Father Corapi’s wealthy lifestyle has been known by SOLT for some time. There is no evidence that SOLT has done much to correct it until very recently. I am being somewhat uncharitable in speculating but I wonder whether the recent large settlement that SOLT made could have anything to do with the recent interest in the wealth of his ministry? I certainly don’t know the answer to this but it does seem to be a coincidence. Certainly a wealthy lifestyle is not conducive to his spiritual growth.
DeleteFr. Corapi should consider this.
12)It seems that the problem appears to coincide with the arrival of Bishop Mulvey in Corpus Christi. I don’t know much about Bishop Mulvey but it was he that demanded that Fr. Corapi be suspended (which was not mandated by Canon Law). Bishop Mulvey has ultimate authority but he was not following the directives of Canon Law in suspending Fr. Corapi in my opinion. I suspect he may not appreciate Fr. Corapi’s style or orthodoxy and felt he could bury Father with this. If true, the accusations by Father’s god daughter were fortuitous for Bishop Mulvey or anyone who might have wanted to silence Fr. Corapi. Perhaps this is why Bishop Gracida felt that he could not clear his name in the canonical structure within the Corpus Christi diocese.
13)When these charges were first made, Bishop Mulvey / SOLT could have demanded that Fr. Corapi take a drug test and a lie detector test. They could have requested (but not demanded) that his accuser do the same. Based on the results of these tests it could have been quickly determined whether any of these charges were credible or not. If credible, an investigation could have been launched under Canon Law giving Fr. Corapi an opportunity to defend himself. Depending on the outcome of the investigation Father might then have been suspended. If the charges were found to not be credible they should have been immediately discarded.
14)Time will tell if Father Corapi will have a ministry in the Church or not. At this time I believe Fr. Corapi. I believe he is capable of everything he is accused of. Father has categorically denied the charges. He has moral weaknesses but I cannot believe he would so publicly lie about everything. That would be destroying the character of others to maintain his standing. I tend to be a good judge of character and I cannot believe he would do that. If Father is lying then he desperately needs help and we should pray all the more for his immortal soul. I would not follow his ministry in the future if I found him to be lying although I would listen to his past lectures that are filled with orthodoxy. I could continue to follow Father if he sinned, but not if he continued to sin and proceeded to maintain a lie about it. Personally, I don’t care for the new title or the leather jacket but that is just my preference. Saints sin and seek reconciliation through God’s mercy. The reprobate live in sin and call God’s justice upon themselves.
15) Several responders to Fr. Medley’s blog suggested that Fr. Corapi was contributing to the support of SOLT. Fr. Medley replied that Fr. Corapi had never contributed anything to SOLT except for several projects which he had sponsored. (?????) I am confused. I guess he means that Fr. Corapi never supported SOLT, except for when he did. Well, I never told my children that I loved them, except for when I did, which was every day.
Delete16)Several people were confused by Fr. Sheehan’s statement asking Fr. Corapi to please not foreclose on his mortgage. They asked Fr. Medley if that meant that Fr. Corapi held the mortgage on SOLT property and Fr. Sheehan was asking him not to start foreclosure on it. Fr. Medley replied that this was not the case, Fr. Corapi did not hold the mortgage on any SOLT property, and that Fr. Sheehan was simply indicating a reason why Father would need so much money – to pay for his expensive mortgage. I have a difficult time interpreting Fr. Sheehan’s statement in this light, but if it is an accurate reflection of what he was saying then he was being very sarcastic. The tone seems to suggest one who is either angry or hurt who is trying to get back at the person who has caused this anger or hurt.
17) We are told that ‘by their fruits we will know them’. Thus far I have not seen any good fruit coming out of this either by Fr. Corapi or by SOLT or the Diocese of Corpus Christi. I have also not seen any good fruit coming from Father’s accuser or the Catholic blogoshere either. Time will tell if Fr. Corapi has taken the right step and will produce good fruit. If he is able to reach a wider audience with sound, orthodox Catholic doctrine then the fruits will be there. If he becomes more of a political commentator then we will know that we are seeing bad fruit. Our salvation is not in politics or any political party. I pray that Fr. Corapi will continue to produce good fruit.
18)We Catholics need to quit attacking each other (I have been as guilty as anyone else). Let’s just pray for the eternal salvation of everyone involved. Ultimately, that is the only thing that counts.
"Can. 745 The supreme moderator with the consent of the council can grant an indult to live outside the society to a definitively incorporated member, but not for more than three years; the rights and obligations which cannot be reconciled with the new condition of the member are suspended, but the member remains under the care of the moderators. If it concerns a cleric, moreover, the consent of the ordinary of the place in which he must reside is required, under whose care and dependence he also remains."
DeleteIt would seem to me that Bishop Mulvey may have simply told SOLT that after 18 years had passed since the constitution had been passed making SOLT a Society of Apostolic Life, it was time for them to either get their members to abide by the Constitution and Canon Law or leave.
On the one hand the argument is presented that John Corapi likely did contribute much to the support of SOLT from his $2M+/year business venture. On the other hand it is said that SOLT forced him to shut down his business to get to his money due to a $1M settlement (which no one has demonstrated that SOLT paid versus the dioceses involved). If that was a prime motive it would seem they'd be killing the goose that laid the golden eggs, though I've not seen anything which indicates that he could not give his assets away to the poor or anyone he chose rather than SOLT.
Yenta Boy is back Really! How much does Yenta Boy Get Paid to devote 24 7 to Corapi.
ReplyDeleteI know him He works For RENTA YENTA!
ReplyDeleteDummy Hummy has a Catholic Business' Infact a few. How Much Of a Sum does Humm make from The Catholic Business he is in?? How much is Dummy Hummy getting paid to slander Father Corapi
ReplyDeleteHe is the owner Of The Pelican Shop and other Catholic business Ventures, But I think his biggest Business is that of Father John Corapi he is really in his business in fact more then anything thing else. How Much $$$$ Does Danny Boy get for smearing Father Corapi ??? He is certainly a BUSY little BUSYBODY!
What exactly do you consider a smear? That I ask how he can have valid faculties, which no one has demonstrated that he had, due to the fact he did not live in his community as is required by canon law? Does anyone disagree that he had not been living in community for over 3 years. "The rights and obligations which cannot be reconciled with the new condition of the member are suspended". The easy solution to that is to move back to his community. If he doesn't want to do that, that go to Bishop Thomas for faculties by working for the diocese.
DeleteYou have a brilliant way of expressing yourself by trying to make fun of people's names. I'm sure you're scoring a number of debate points.
DeleteFather Corapi cannot be "suspended" by the Bishop of Corpus Christi for the folowing reasons.
ReplyDeleteFirst, Church law (Can. 1321) provides that no one can be punished unless he has actually committed some offense with malice or culpability.
One cannot be guilty of an "offense" based entirely by accusations. The "suspension" is thus plainly void and a mockery of Catholic justice.
even if there were a valid decree of suspension, in her mercy the Church recognizes that one is excused from a penalty if it was impossible or even "gravely inconvenient" to comply with the law that was allegedly violated. (Can. 1323)
It would be impossible, and certainly gravely inconvenient, for Father Corapi to return to SOLT at the age of 63, leaving behind his life's work, his home and all his personal affairs, and reside until death in a diocese which has made no provision for his support or old age and has no canonical mission for him because he cannot even speak. Not even notoriously heretical and homosexual priests have been subjected to such a harsh, unprecedented penalty. Plus allowing perhaps criminals to perpertrate harm on others.
Is It Father Corapis legitimate teaching on The Church to which his persecutors really object to. Silencing any further call for Credible Church teaching is what the "case" against Father Corapi is really about, although his persecutors can hardly admit this. The heresies of Kung and innumerable others like him in the priesthood do not seem to alarm these Church officials, who do little or nothing to stop the spread of heresy.
But the Message of Father Corapi, endorsed by God and approved by the Catholic Church, does seem to alarm them greatly, why else would they announce Father Corapis "suspension" on a trumped-up charge that has not been examined by Father Corapis Canon Lawyers, Have they no shame? He was not charged witha Crime.
In their compulsion to silence Father Corapi at all costs, these officials trample on Canon 221: "Christ's faithful have the right that no canonical penalties be inflicted upon them except in accordance with the law." The law has not been followed, but rather perverted, in the case of Father Corapi. And the result is that not only he, but the whole Church suffers detriment from a public travesty of justice: the guilty roam free while an innocent man is punished. Even worse, the right of the faithful to seek the truth about fr. Corapi is denied. (Canon 748)
Finally, even if Father Corapi were validly "suspended" (which is not valid in my opinion), he is perfectly entitled to carry on non-priestly duties such as publishing books and magazines, organizing or speaking at conferences, or directing a private Apostolate. (Canons 321-323) Even Hans Kung, one of the most notorious heretics in living memory, remained a priest in good standing who continued to speak and publish whatever heresy he liked including the claim in his book that the papacy has no foundation in Scripture. Obviously, therefore, a wholly orthodox priest like Father Corapi, who has done nothing wrong, has the right to teach sound Catholic orthodoxy whether or not he is declared "suspended."
You stopped talking about private associations of the faithful with 323? "324§2. A private association of the Christian faithful can freely choose a spiritual advisor, if it desires one, from among the priests exercising ministry legitimately in the diocese; nevertheless, he needs the CONFIRMATION OF THE LOCAL ORDINARY."
Delete"325§2. A private association is subject to the AUTHORITY OF THE LOCAL ORDINARY according to the norm of can. 1301 in what pertains to the administration and distribution of goods which have been donated or left to it for pious causes."
I once listened to an hour long talk given by Bishop Mulvey, back in 2010. He basically rejects what the Church teaches about the Real Presence. He kept saying many times that we cannot "absolutize" the Eucharist. The Church, however, says that the Eucharist is the "source, center, and summit" of the Church's life - sounds quite absolute to me! Bishop Mulvey disagrees.
DeleteIn his talk, he takes a swipe at "great preachers" (a reference to Corapi?), and at people who talk about "communion" (a reference to the SOLT charism?). After listening to Bishop Mulvey's talk, I've come to the conclusion that this poor bishop is a heretic. I know from personal experience that heretical priests and heretical bishops have a bitter hatred for any priest or bishop who is truly catholic. They will do anything they can to bring down a faithful priest. They will. They will look at any fault/weakness a faithful priest may have now or may have had in the past, and try to use it to bring down that priest. I am speaking from personal experience in this regard. They trample down good priests in order to "prove" that fidelity to the Pope is a real problem. Really, it's the Pope they despise. John Paul, and now Benedict.
After listening to Bishop Mulvey's talk about the Eucharist, it makes me wonder.... Was he hoping to find something wrong with Corapi, as a way to embarrass SOLT? As a way to prove wrong the teaching of Pope Benedict in "Sacramentum Caritatis" and "Summorum Pontificum"? As a way to attack Pope John Paul II. And alas, who shall bring Bishop Mulvey to task for his bad teaching about the Eucharist? Should he be suspended while we investigate him?
Every doughnut has a hole at its center. Without the hole, you lose the essence of the doughnut. It would no longer even be a doughnut. But if you were to "absolutize" the hole, you'd have no doughnut either. The hole is not the absolute of the doughnut.
DeleteIt seems quite likely that you failed to capture the essence of the talk by being unfamiliar with the terminology used. Not having heard the talk, I can't say.
There had been a dialog going on for some years between Pope Benedict when he was Cardinal Ratzinger and head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and Cardinal Kasper for the Congregation for Christian Unity over the Universal Church and the Church being in essence a communion of local Churches. Seeing as how you seem unsure of how Bishop Mulvey was using the term "communion", you perhaps aren't aware of the various ways it might be used. Seeing as how you seem very unsure as to what was actually said, you might not be that well qualified to toss around the term "heretic". In case you have forgotten, Bishop Mulvey was made a bishop by Pope Benedict XVI.
I have the video of the talk with me on DVD. His point is that the Eucharist must not be seen as an end. Tell that to contemplative nuns! After listening to his talk, I felt like I was going against him when I went to Adoration!
DeleteThat he was made bishop by Pope Benedict XVI doesn't mean anything. If it did, I might as well tell you that Fr. Corapi was made priest by Blessed John Paul II who is now in Heaven. Does that shut down your argument like you hope to shut down my argument by your statement? No, dear Humm, it wouldn't.
All I can say is that, after listening to this talk - which was given long before the situation with Corapi blew up, in fact, Corapi was still preaching at the time, I got the strong impression that Bishop Mulvey didn't like SOLT, and liked Corapi even less. Not an objective observer for this situation.
Regardless of Bishop Mulvey's involvement with the Corapi situation, based simply on this talk I've heard, to quote a great nun, "I'm afraid my obedience in that diocese would be absolutely zero. And I hope everybody else's in that diocese is zero".
I read some time back that Bishop Mulvey did not allow a Eucharist Procession, I will try to find the article.
DeleteLiberal Bishop Mulvey, has neglected to have a Corpus Christi procession for the second year running. His predecessor used to have wonderful processions and brought Our Lord close to the heart of his beloved people. This is a Bishop who doesn't like kneeling either. Perhaps this is so because he has no understanding of obedience.
DeleteThere is no question that this Bishop's teaching is either erroneous or misleading. If a bishop's teaching is not in full and clear agreement with the teaching of the Church, than such a bishop is not fit for ministry. At least, we should probably have this bishop suspended while we conduct a thorough investigation. Somehow, I doubt that this bishop would comply with the process.
DeleteThat is very true I agree He should be investigated! Why not a thorough investigation on The Bishop. I for one find it very odd that The Bishop is against Corpus Christi procession. Isn't He misleading Catholics with this type of teaching. I find to many of the Bishops in Bed with political parties sorry The Church is under attack by corrupt politicians. Pray for Pope Benedict XVI. I pray that Father Corapi returns and does not give up the fight!
DeleteAlas, I'm not trying to say that since Mulvey is, in my estimation, "faith-challenged," that Corapi is a saint. No. But what I'm trying to point out is that Mulvey is not the right man to have any authoritative dealing with the Corapi situation. I believe that he didn't like Corapi to begin with, and that he didn't like SOLT to begin with either. With these dispositions, the accusation against Corapi becomes a perfect opportunity for him to shut down Corapi and to embarrass SOLT. This bishop is not objective, and he has come at this situation with a prejudice.
DeleteIt is commonly understood that the accuser sent the precious 3-page letter to some other bishops too. Presumably, they were the bishops of the dioceses wherein Corapi was soon scheduled to preach. Might be a good idea to examine those bishops too, to see the unjust way in which they deal with unproven accusations against priests. That would open a new can of worms, wouldn't it?
In fairness, though, shouldn't this poor bishop in Corpus Christi be investigated for his theological errors? Why, dear Daniel, do you think that this bishop is beyond reproach in this situation? Could he be a bad guy? Is it possible that he did something gravely wrong in this situation? Is it possible that he's doing something wrong now with this whole situation?
I agree the whole this whole situation is quite strange. I know very little about Bishop Mulvey but suspect he did not Like Father Corapi from the on set. Father Corapi was suspended a week before he was to speak at a Pro Life Event For Catholic Charities.
DeleteBach and Sebastian, Obvious your intellects' are superior and your discernment of the matter is OUTSTANDING. I so appreciate your complete descriptive means as to the how and why of Bishop Mulveys actions. He is a scandal and INDEED he needs investigating. Since when does a BISHOP who does NOT SEE CHRIST in the Euchrist and doubts IT...should be immediately dismissed. HOW dare he put forth lies regards the foundation the summit of the FAITH. God will have His way w.him in due course. And may I add the Dear Bishop and others as him that think same may they perspire in FEAR as death comes to all. WOE to Shepherds who lead his flock astray. HELL is waiting. Christ himself uttered these words, I JUST paraphased Him.
DeleteDanny Boy needs to get a life he has serious psychological deformities. There are other people in the world besides Father Corapi. Dummy Hummies jealousy envy and hatred are so glaringly obvious they fill his days and torment his nights. He must think about Fther Corapi 24/7??????????

ReplyDeleteToday On Saint Valentines Day it seems that Yenta Boy is still posting about Father Corapi HUMMMMMM!! Wonder why????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
ReplyDeleteI have posted because Bach referred to Bishop Mulvey as a "heretic" when they seemed to have little comprehension as to what the term "absolutize" means. No need for you to wonder any longer.
DeleteFunny That yenta boy never heard the talk in question regarding Bishop Mulvey, but without missing a beat he defends The Bishops statements. The Corapi affair is political and coincides with the arrival of the Liberal Bishop, sorry that is what he is. Danny Boy is too blinded by he is envy & Hatred of Father to even be interested in the truth.
DeleteAre you an adult?
DeleteBIG QUESTION >
ReplyDeleteWhy do the women on CFLC page drool over a priest ?
Drooling over ANY priest is sick !
DeleteWe know Tamra it is!!!
DeleteAl, maybe this wasn't such a great topic to bring up again. Its almost a year and tensions don't seemed to have cooled a whole heck of a lot. The real story to be studying is less that of Fr. Corapi and more that of the split caused by this scandal. Would love to have you address that in your show one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI have No idea why Dummy Hummy is drooling Over Father Corapi it is so silly really!
ReplyDeleteI do think about it???
DeleteWas Danny Boy Comparing The Eucharist to a Doughnut?? Also Danny boy is not very familiar with the teachings of Cardinal Ratzinger now Pope Benedict with regard to Christian Unity He is twisting The Holy Fathers Words. I believe The Holy Father Made it very clear there was one Church and the Rest were ecclesiastical communities.
DeleteApparently, you aren't aware of the discussion between Cardinals Ratzinger and Kasper, which is entirely different than the one on ecclesiastical communities. The use of the doughnut was to illustrate the term "absolutize", which apparently you still may not comprehend?
DeleteTina Lewis and Deece Powell > { hehehehe ) We know and so does Corapi or is it Coradi . LMAO LOL HAHAHAHAHA ..Where's the HOG and LEATHERS ?
ReplyDeleteAt your Mothers House!
DeleteIt is to be deplored that a person such as yourself Mr. HUMM DRUM has attached themselves to an institution such as The Catholic Church, preaching Canon Law. I cannot even say Preaching in the rational sense of the word but "Screeching" with a display of Nastiness and Egotism that can only stem from a diseased and disordered mind. For whatever reason your particular animus is directed toward Father Corapi. There is an obvious prejudice against Father Corapi. Indeed prejudice is not quite the "mot juste" distaste, even hatred would more accurately describe the feelings engendered by your behavior. My first instinct after reading your smear campaign on a Catholic Priest would be to toss you head first into the street after loosening your teeth with a few well aimed punches. The English have a word for individuals like you and the word is "Cad" and not to long ago Cads were often horsewhipped. A most salutary punishment! In your case I fear that it would be wasted as you would probably greatly enjoy the sting of the whip.
ReplyDeleteYet what can one expect from a mere pedant an insignificant nit picker with absolutely no talent or attainments whatsoever (other then coasting a free ride on Father Corapis Coattails). and as utterly lacking in Religious sensibility as he is in the basic elements of polite behavior. In the future "Little Man" I would caution you to comport yourself in a manner that is acceptable to civilized human beings. Gossiping about a Priest Of The Catholic Church is not the place to flaunt your vulgar antisocial proclivities, and monstrous psychological deformities
Thank you for your example of what you consider polite behavior that is acceptable to civilized human beings. Now do you care to point out exactly what is the flaw in reasoning having to do with Canon 745?
DeletePut a Cork in it DUMMY HUMMY you are BOOOORING with your Canon Law crap!
DeleteFather Corapi's accuser came onto a support page for him and while she was on there she cried out for satan to help her. Case closed!
ReplyDeleteThat is enough for me. I will continue to support Father (as I always have) anyway I can.
DeleteGod Bless Father Corapi for bearing this Cross so bravely. God will bless him with abundant Graces and as in the story of Job.

DeleteHow disturbing to hear all this nonsense about a priest, as far as I can see the man is innocent.. He could have lead thousands astray yet his words where pray for all involved and seems to be suffering in silence I have searched the net and found his accuser very unstable to say the least.. Why if this case happened years ago, she would have been required to seek help, she sounds like a mad women... this is ridicules... no wonder young men shy away from accepting their calling for the presithood.. This woman has caused great damage and you Mr Hum should be ashamed of yourself...
ReplyDeleteDummy Hummy has devoted a year to slandering Father and making assumptions about him and his character. Mr. Dummy Hummy has no problemo posting on that vulgar disgusting page known as the Something Dawg where they make fun of The Blessed Mother and have made disgusting anti Catholic remarks. He interacts with the slime of the earth and uses Canon Law which he is very ignorant of as an excuse to smear Father WHY! They are jealous and filled with envy.
DeleteThe accuser is a NUT JOB there is more then ample evidence of her insanity. Some Victim, she is over 50 years old and has the emotional range of a gnat No Pity Party Here couldn't care less what her Daddy did, that is not Father Corapi's Fault. I think she is trash and eventually the trash is thrown out.

DeletePlease Tamra called a professional speakers friend and left the most vile messages on their answering machine just because they called Fathers Office, She had tons of pictures plastered all over her FB page until her identity as the accuser was revealed. Her possessiveness of Father Corapi is well known to people who attended conferences or called the office. She is a very sick angry person filled with hate her jealousy of Father and possessiveness is a symptom of one who is psychotic, They wish to isolate and destroy the person because of they can't have him as a possession no one can it is not Love its roots are usually a very Bad Father Figure. I believe as she got older her psychotic behavior became worse. I think she needs help but she is surrounded by enablers. I know that Father Corapi did try to help her.
DeletePsychotic disorders, like schizophrenia, are a group of serious illnesses that affect the mind. These illnesses alter a person's ability to think clearly, make good judgments, respond emotionally, communicate effectively, understand reality, and behave appropriately. DeleteIt is strange how Tamra keeps accusing others of Lusting after a Priest! The fact is that Many people woman and men Love Father Corapi he is very loved by many. There is nothing wrong with loving a Priest. Love is not lust. I love Father Corapi, My Husband loves Father Corapi and many I know love this Priest he has inspired that. I also know that a lot of his enemies are jealous and envious of this. Very few can inspire the Love that Father has inspired, Which comes from Christ, I also Love Pope Benedict Blessed John Paul II St. John Vianney. Love is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteTamra Sexton is writing a book? Who cares. Like we need another story of mental illness, addiction, and obsessive fixation. If she were remotely attractive, the book may have a chance. However, she is obviously a butt ugly piece of trailer trash. She was a ho most of her life until a decent man gave her a real job, and she raped him financially. No man could ever get a hard on lookijg at her ugly mug shot.
Amy Marie
Trailer trash Tamra is writing a book? Like who cares about her drunken ho history and extortion tactics. Cannot wait to see her mig shots. Ugly, nasty woman. He fired her drunk a*s with good reason. Now she is good buddies with a greasy porn lawyer. How predictable. As Nola would say, HAHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Amy Marie
Only trailer trash Tamra would motivate someone to find a kitty with a lime peel and phony accent. The trash refuses to remain in the dumpster. Too busy fellating porno Joe.

Tamra is trash. Pure and simple. No life until Fr gave her a real job. Extortionist. Married a felon named Sprinkles. She is absolutely obsessed with Corapi. Sick psycho who thinks a priest would be desperate for her! Lol! Ugly trailer trash and dumb drunken ho.

Deleteshe's a luntic to the nth degree.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I will say, not knowing his accuser or if there was any truth to the accusations, is that when I met a woman working there for him at that conference, I thought her to be odd. I would like to share something only a few people have knowledge of and I do so in case it would help in any way. When I was at that conference, I could not help but notice the way in which she acted. She acted as if she owned him. I thought at the time that it may have been due to being star struck. I am sure that an assistant of a man of such a charismatic personality would be immune to his ability to inspire and connect with people. She did not realize I was a speaker at the same conference and when I approached her to ask if Fr. Corapi was around and that I would like an opportunity to speak to him and perhaps go to confession with him, she was, in my opinion, not only rude to me, but I felt she treated me as if I was something or someone that she had to "protect" Fr. Corapi from. In her defense, I realize that her job was to allow him the time to pray, to get to his talks etc, but it was more than that. She acted as if she owned him some how. I recall then holding up my speaker's badge which I was wearing and showing it to her saying "I will just talk to him in the speakers lounge", a place even she could not go. I regret doing that now, it was my own lack of humility and my stubborn and quick to anger ego that just wanted her to be nice to me and treat me like I mattered, instead I probably ended up making her feel like she did not matter. I am truly sorry for that. The look on her face suprised the hell out of me. She looked at me with a seering hate. Yes, hate. I remember thinking how very weird she was and how weird she acted about Fr. Corapi. I never saw them together so I can not say how she acted with him or he with her, but my feeling of how she talked about him and acted as his assistant seemed out of the ordinary.A few weeks later, I had reason to call Fr. Corapi based on some advise he gave me. I called his office and this woman, whom I will not name, answered the phone. When she found out it was me, she proceeded to threaten me telling me that I was never to call there again or she would have legal action brought against me. I even tried writing him a letter thinking to myself, what the heck is going on?
ReplyDeleteI then called my good friend Terry Barber of St. Joseph Communications and told him about what happened and not only did he agree that it was really weird but that he was friends with Fr. Corapi and that I should try to reach him again and just tell him what was going on. I called and left 2 or 3 messages on the answering machine (in which her voice was the recording). I also had another friend call thinking maybe she was just upset with me over what took place between us and if someone she did not know called her I could get through.Well, this woman called and left a horrific message on my friends voicemail. I listened to it shaking my head the whole time thinking, how can this woman be working for Fr. Corapi and does he know what she is doing?????The next thing I know I got a letter from his office, signed by him, saying I was to cease and desist from contacting their office or there would be charged brought up against me. I was in shock. It had to be a mistake right? I mean, he knew me! I talked to him! Wouldn't logic make him say, wait, this is the woman I talked with for almost an hour at the conference in Houston? The only possibility, I thought, was that he probably had no idea who I was and she was telling me him something. I regret never acting on the inspiration to send the photo of the two of us and to tell him what was going on. Perhaps if someone needs this information now, if it is in fact relevant at all, they can read this and let me know if my testimony is needed in anyway. My experience with him and this woman, who may not even be the woman in questions, either proves that there was something very unhealthy going on between them, or that there was something very unhealthy about this woman. I have no idea or opinion about which is the case. If however, there is something there, then we must pray for him, regardless we should pray for him, but especially if there is any truth to this because the enemy is clearly at work here. If any of the allegations are true, then you can imagine the horrific suffering he is going to endure. It is one thing to bare the burden of being falsely accused, but interiorly you know you are right with God and I believe that they endure knowing they are like Christ in their martyrdom. However, if he is guilty, then the suffering will be like a horrific internal torture and I am sure the enemy will inflict even more further damage. We must pray for him and for this woman so that Christ's will be done. I for one will be praying for light to shine and reveal the lies whatever they may be. Christina King Wrote this.
DeleteChristina King is not the only person abused by this woman Tamra
DeleteWe can only imagine what poor Father Corapi went through.

I'm not sure who Nola or Amy Marie are but I find their back & forth post sick.Reading Amy Marie's foul post made me ill.Who are these sick women talking such nasty filth? If those are the folks supporting John Corapi he is better off retiring.
ReplyDeleteI agree! These people should be ashamed of themselves. They CANNOT be CATHOLIC!!! Fr. Corapi must be mortified to have supporters like this.
