Obama Surrogate: Benghazi Never Asked For More Security

Breitbart, Oct. 14, 2012

Today on NBC's "Meet the Press," the Obama campaign trotted out former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm -- most recently heard from during her bizarre Democratic National Convention performance -- to explain that the Obama administration was not responsible for problems in Benghazi, since Benghazi was merely a compound, while Tripoli was an embassy. In point of fact, the US embassy in Libya sought an extension of the Security Support Team, which provides security escorts. The request was denied.

Former Governor Jennifer Granholm: "What was said at the debate is not inaccurate. There was testimony in Congress asking for more security, but that security that was requested was for Tripoli, which is the embassy, not for Benghazi -- which is 400 miles away. The fact that the Romney team doesn't distinguish between an embassy and a compound, I think, is indicative of their lack of information."

  1. Biden said he didn't vote for the Iraq war and the authorization for armed conflict in Afghanistan. He did. These are the two MOST important aspects of our foreign policy over the past decade and if your Vice President even know where HE stood on these monumental votes than he has invalidated himself from being part of any meaningful discussion on any foreign policy. Folks who do you trust? Not people that lie straight-up to my face. I can't believe this wasn't a front page news story for all of last week. Pathetic.

  2. If the Benghazi attack and the deaths of the four Americans causes Obama to be defeated, then it will be seen as a truly wonderful instance of Divine Providence and, therefore, a blessing. But it will be another three weeks until we know for sure.
