4:00 – Coming Apart: The State of White America, 1960-2010
In Coming Apart, Charles Murray explores the formation of American classes that are different in kind from anything we have ever known, focusing on whites as a way of driving home the fact that the trends he describes do not break along lines of race or ethnicity. Drawing on five decades of statistics and research, he demonstrates that a new upper class and a new lower class have diverged so far in core behaviors and values that they barely recognize their underlying American kinship—divergence that has nothing to do with income inequality and that has grown during good economic times and bad. The evidence in Coming Apart is about white America. Its message is about all of America.

5:00 – Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th Through 12th Grade American Textbooks
A recently released analysis of history textbooks used in school districts nationwide reveals a strong pro-Islam bias that researchers say will profoundly affect the way future generations approach foreign policy, if left uncorrected. “Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks,” was sent to 70,000 school board members across the country in late March. The heavily documented, 229-page study, conducted over the course of two years, found the textbooks gloss over some aspects of the Islamic faith while completely rewriting others. Some, when discussing 9/11, never used the words Muslim or Islam. Brigitte Gabriel of Act For America, which commissioned the study, is with us.
