Talking about the "things that matter most" on April 25
4:00 – Vatican Demands Reform of Leadership Conference of Women Religious
The Vatican has called for a thorough reform of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), the umbrella group that represents most of the women’s religious orders in the US. After a thorough investigation of the LCWR, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) concluded that “the current doctrinal and pastoral situation of LCWR is grave and a matter of serious concern.” The CDF concluded that a Vatican intervention was necessary to reform the group. Archbishop Peter Sartain of Seattle has been appointed as the Vatican’s delegate to supervise the reform of the LCWR. The archbishop has been charged with helping LCWR leaders to revise the group’s statues, plan its programs, review liturgical texts, and reconsider the group’s affiliations with other organizations. We talk with Sr. Johannah Paruch, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George.
4:20 – Army’s ‘chilling trend’ puts women at risk
The Army is pushing more women closer to the front lines and in closer contact with men even as the number of sexual attacks on female soldiers has surged during the past six years. Army figures show that reports of violent sex crimes have nearly doubled, from 665 in 2006 to 1,313 last year. Nearly all the victims were women. Most were young soldiers moving from one post to another, a time when they were most vulnerable, according to “Generating Health and Discipline in the Force,” a comprehensive study into the Army’s mind and body. We talk to Elaine Donnelly of the Center for Military Readiness.
4:40 – Kresta Comments – Bishop Daniel Jenky: Bold Leadership
Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria told the 500 men who attended the diocese’s annual men’s march and Mass that “the days in which we live now require heroic Catholicism, not casual Catholicism.” But what is raising eyebrows is the following: “The Church will survive the entrenched corruption and sheer incompetence of our Illinois state government, and even the calculated disdain of the President of the United States, his appointed bureaucrats in HHS, and of the current majority of the federal Senate. May God have mercy on the souls of those politicians who pretend to be Catholic in church, but in their public lives, rather like Judas Iscariot, betray Jesus Christ by how they vote and how they willingly cooperate with intrinsic evil…Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care. In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama--with his radical, pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda--now seems intent on following a similar path.” Al has reaction.
5:00 – Did Muhammad Exist?: An Inquiry into Islam's Obscure Origins
Did Muhammad exist? It is a question that few have thought—or dared—to ask. Virtually everyone, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, takes for granted that the prophet of Islam lived and led in seventh-century Arabia. But now, Robert Spencer reveals the shocking contents of the earliest Islamic biographical material about the prophet of Islam. Now he uncovers that material’s surprisingly shaky historical foundations. Spencer meticulously examines historical records, archaeological findings, and pioneering new scholarship to reconstruct what we can know about Muhammad, the Qur’an, and the early days of Islam. The evidence he presents challenges the most fundamental assumptions about Islam’s origins.

Subject: your show today information on Mohammad
Date: Wed, 25 Apr 2012 15:25:22 -0700
Your show was very interesting today.
I am Catholic and have been for close to 25 years now
but for a time in my life I was a Mormon a little over 10 years
As I was listening to your guest, it struck me as to the similarities as to how
both Mohammad and Joe Smith of the Mormon religion both started their heresies.
Both Claim to have had an Angel deliver their message, both claim that they were told that the original churches were corrupt
both came up with new so called ", and said that the originals were corrupt and wrong.
both claim , as most Cults do, that you were not to speak wrong about their religion, and that you were not to leave or you would be dammed, as most cults do.
While Joe smith claimed that he found the gold tablets, and Mohammad claimed to write new scriptures as did also Joe Smith, they both did away with the original scriptures handed down through the Jews, and the Catholic Church.
while it is pretty evident that any falling away, apostasy, or starting of a new religion, different from the one that God gave us through the Catholic Church, that to divide only comes from one source and that is not from God. our Lord said the very gates of hell would not destroy his church. but many just seem to gloss over that part and chose which parts they read whenever they are justifying the either starting of new religions or the break-up and apostasy from his one true church, the Catholic Church.
I thought for a long time that the Mormon church, after I left, was the False Prophet that is spoken of in the scriptures, now I understand that any church that claims to not believe in the Divinity our our Lord Jesus, and in the Holy Trinity as One God Father Son and Holy Spirit is actually the False Prophets spoken of, those who are sent to lead souls into Hell by leading them away from the Truth.
Although it does look as though we are going to end up with a major battle between Muslims and Christians Again, as the Muslims are on the attack once again, at this most important time in history.
It might be good for some people on your team there to do an investigative analysis on the comparisons between Mormon origins and Muslim Origins.
Not saying they are the same nor teach the same ( although there are several similarities)
I am saying that it seems as though the other side deceives many in much the same way.
It might be a good time to do an in depth report to broadcast
Thank You and God Bless,
