Talking about the "things that matter most" on Oct. 19
4:00 – A Testimony of Violation, Despair and “Re-Finding” God
Exposed is a true modern day love story between God and a girl and the enemy who wants to tear them apart. Raped at seventeen and then again as a freshman in college, Shannon Deitz felt completely bypassed by love. Rebelling against the violent attacks on her body and struggling to quiet the pain through self–abuse, her feelings of worthlessness eventually became so palpable she could not fathom how anyone – most especially God – could love her. She is here to testify to the truth that, no matter how deeply our wounds may run, we will always be worthy of God's healing grace
5:00 – Fertility Decline in the Muslim World
There remains a widely perceived notion — still commonly held within intellectual, academic, and policy circles in the West and elsewhere — that “Muslim” societies are especially resistant to embarking upon the path of demographic and familial change that has transformed population profiles in Europe, North America, and other “more developed” areas (UN terminology). But such notions speak to a bygone era; they are utterly uninformed by the important new demographic realities that reflect today’s life patterns within the Arab world, and the greater Islamic world as well. Nicholas Eberstadt joins us to present the evidence.
5:40 – Our Sunday Visitor Celebrates 100 Years
Earlier this month, Our Sunday Visitor celebrated their 100th Anniversary and “Kresta in the Afternoon” was there. Today we air an interview with OSV’s President of Publishing Greg Erlandson that we recorded while there.
