4:20 – Maryland man dies of starvation before court hearing on feeding-tube clash
A brain-damaged man at the center of a Maryland dispute over whether his feeding tube should be removed has died. An attorney for the wife of 55-year-old Daniel Sanger said the wife called him this morning to say her husband died overnight. A Frederick judge who was set to hear arguments on whether Sanger should continue getting sustenance through a feeding tube declared the case moot in a brief hearing today. Sanger suffered severe brain damage after a heart attack. Sanger's mother and brother had been seeking an injunction to keep the feeding tube in place at Frederick Memorial Hospital. It was restored last month under a temporary restraining order after Sanger's wife, Leta Sanger, had it removed. We talk to Bobby Schindler, brother of Terri Schiavo.
4:40 – The Physics of Reality: Ramblings of a Grieving Engineer
Losing one’s child is devastating. The unbearable loss makes it starkly evident that life is a fragile, temporary and spiritual battle. We talk with Dr. Lakhi Goenka, a PhD in mechanical engineering, about science and spirituality as it grapples with questions such as: Is my son OK, why are we here, why does the universe exist, and more.
5:00 - Kresta Commentary - All Souls Day: A Primer on Purgatory and Indulgences
The Church, after rejoicing yesterday with those of her children who have entered the glory of heaven, today prays for all those who, in the purifying suffering of purgatory await the day when they will be joined to the company of saints. At no place in the liturgy is stated in more striking fashion the mysterious union between the Church triumphant, the Church militant and the Church suffering; at no time is there accomplished in clearer fashion the twofold duty of charity and justice deriving for every Christian from the fact of his incorporation in the mystical Body of Christ. Al gives us a primer on purgatory.
5:20 – Surrender! The Life Changing Power of Doing God's Will
At best, the word surrender is decidedly un-American Remember the Alamo, Leave it all on the field, Never give up. But Scripture and Father Larry Richards can be equally as compelling as he challenges you to go against the grain and do what few are willing to do. Fr. Richards is here to outline concrete steps you can take to dwell in peace. Simply put, God wants every one of us to be a saint which is a lot of work! It requires developing a plan for your life, in accordance with the Lord's will.
