Bishop Patrick Zurek of Amarillo, Texas, will meet next week with Father Frank Pavone to discuss his leadership of Priest for Life.
Bishop Zurek has announced that he has scheduled a private meeting with Father Pavone for October 13: exactly one month after he recalled the pro-life leader to Amarillo. The bishop said that he had asked Father Pavone to spend some time in prayer and reflection on his priesthood, and would speak to him about "his spiritual progress" during that period.
In his October 6 statement, Bishop Zurek emphasized that his decision to recall Father Pavone was not prompted by any lack of enthusiasm for the priest's pro-life work. "I have always supported the proclamation of the Gospel of Life," the bishop said. "I only want what is best for all organizations that support and promote those teachings."
Bishop Zurek said that he is "seeking clarifications and answers to concerns about the administration of the PFL organization and other related entities" under Father Pavone's leadership. He did not provide details.
I would hope that Al Kresta would not put Fr Pavone on air anymore, unless like a good broadcaster/ news journalist he brings up the finances or all the money that Pavone has sent down a rathole, and the fact that his board of directors of his org. are significantly all his office people(the hired help).
