NBC's “Today” show will be broadcast from the Vatican on June 2, Ascension Thursday.
Host Matt Lauer—who was introduced to Pope Benedict XVI after the Pontiff’s weekly public audience on Wednesday—will fulfill a personal ambition when he hosts the NBC morning show from the Vatican.
A “Huffington Post” headline "Pope Benedict XVI and Archbishop Timothy Dolan Will Join Matt Lauer On 'Today' At Vatican" was somewhat misleading. While Archbishop Timothy Dolan will join Lauer for an interview, Pope Benedict will not be a part of the live broadcast. The show will include some tape of the Pope's appearances.
