First, 98% statistic has been thoroughly debunked (http://www.catholicvote.org/discuss/index.php?p=26675) - yet it continues to be repeated to the point where it is now considered gospel. Second, many women - Catholics included - are routinely placed on the Pill - NOT for contraception - but for Menstrual Cramps and even acne! But, there is no distinction being made as to how many Catholic women are using the Pill - not for contraception - but for an ethically neutral reason such as menstrual cramps. Third, there are too many scientists and medical professionals who are either ignorant or politically blinded to the negative effects of the pill (http://www.canfp.org/artman/publish/printer_456.shtml). It is becoming clear that the Catholic vision of sexuality is not only the most theologically correct - it is also the most naturally healthy and personally fulfilling. However, the politics of this debate are preventing that message from emerging.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
